you know who else had good numbers the first couple years of his career?
raycroft, toskala.... i could go on.. its a long list
the coupld year mark is when scouts figure out a guy.. reimer isnt that good.. nothing more than a big body that gets in the way of shots.'
his career will be over soon. couple more years and he'll be playing in europe.. mark my words. - Dozzer
Raycroft wasn't .914. he was .906. HAd less wins than losses.
Toskala S% was .913 and as a backup on a much stronger team.
I already have. I can point to hundreds of goalies with WAY worse stats that managed to stay in the NHL. To suggest that a guy that wins more than he loses and has a .914 career S% (never below .900). There are a ton of guys that have sub 0.900 s% that find work, but somehow a guy that has never done that will have his career end soon?? |

so you would have chased Hasek out of town as well? I am not saying Reimer is anywhere near as good as Hasek was, but just making a point about who cares how the puck is stopped, just along as it is.
He is the only goalie the Leafs have had in the past 10 years that got them into the playoffs. He did this when he was given the confidence from management to be the number 1 guy, and was also given a longer leash when he did have the odd bad game(s), allowing him to bounce back and recover.
The way they handled him this past season destroyed any confidence he had, and he could not get settled into any king of rhythm to rebuild it. |

I always thought, what an odd position to put GOD in. What if both tenders were very religious. Which one does GOD pay attention too.
Same as 2 fighters, both look to GOD for help. Does the one that loses look up and wave with only one finger ? - bixll
No, God would choose the less sinful combatant to win. Therefore if Reimer is losing... |

Yes. Bring in Oates now. Another failure, who thinks the fans should shut up. That's how you run an ENTERTAINMENT business. |

If they can find someone who will have the gonads to walk into the dressing room and smack the living hell out of anyone who plays Miley Cirus before/after a game should be hired on the spot. |

Yeah, numbers aside, the amount of games that Reimer's play deflated this team was not good. He just killed all momentum a few times. Alex Semin puts up 30 goals a year, but there is more to the game than stat lines - xxCHRISTOFIRExx
he blew it in last years post season.. he blew it this year.. he's not that good
you can see it in the leafs play.. far more passive with him in net.. they also tend to run around a lot more. |

Set in his ways about who plays where...... OV feels more comfortable on one wing, but Oates says if you shoot and certain way you HAVE to play that wing. So OV ends up playing a wing he is less comfortable with. Same thing with RC and Lupul. |

not true, they ran around just as much with Bernier in net. The only thing that was different, was that Bernier deflected the puck over the glass a bunch and all that accomplished was more lost DZ faceoffs. |

At first I thought Oates might be good but now I'm terrified we might actually get him. If there is one thing I hate it is paint by numbers coaches. Sometimes dudes play the off wing, accept it. You don't always have to have two hands on the stick, accept it. |

agreed. We don't need anymore coaches trying to put square pegs in round holes.

was not the point I was making. My point was, when given the confidence and long leash/rhythm of a number 1 goalie, he got them into the playoffs, and was mainly responsible for at least 2 of their 3 wins in the first round.
Some people were worried how Bernier would handle the extra work load of being a number 1.... well he got injured late in the season, so he still has not proven he can handle the work load of being a number 1. |
