Fringe..... Career .914 S%. He'll get a job elsewhere (in the NHL contrary to your belief) and do just fine. There are plenty of crappy goalies with FAR worse stats than Reimer who have managed to stick around and find NHL jobs.

I have to agree with this. It seems like a big positive being made of this move is to send the middle finger to the fanbase. "Shut up, give us your money, and watch us continue to suck." That's probably just another addition to this terrible situation for the Leafs organization. "Let's be sure to put the fans in their place. If we're going to suck, we'd like to do it comfortably."

Maybe Oates is working on getting his resume ready to be one of those assistant coaches.

It's a good spin effort at the very least. Let's change the focus from the terrible season we've had and the bad decision to keep Carlyle and make it the fault of the fanbase.

There aren't many other fan bases that would get this kind of treatment. I guess it's that there is no fear of repercussion. Leafs fans are the most loyal and no matter how often we threaten to leave, we know we never will and it seen as a good thing when the collective is upset. It's pretty crappy

the coupld year mark is when scouts figure out a guy.. reimer isnt that good.. nothing more than a big body that gets in the way of shots.'

his career will be over soon. couple more years and he'll be playing in europe.. mark my words.

reimer has gotten a total of .566Pts in the games he's gotten a decision in. That'd be right there with DRW and CLB this year, just outside last year, ahead of 8th 2 years ago, outside 3 years ago, and tehy'd be 6th 4 years ago.

So they miss 2 out of last 5..... not consistently out. A .914 S% would easily get you into the playoffs.

Yeah, numbers aside, the amount of games that Reimer's play deflated this team was not good. He just killed all momentum a few times. Alex Semin puts up 30 goals a year, but there is more to the game than stat lines
