yes, i think he would (at least for Salomaki and Leipsic), but i highly doubt the Flyers would do a straight up deal for those guys. Aberg is a high prospect and his #s look good. i'd be lying if i said i've ever seen him play. here's a link http://predators.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=718267

at the end of the day though, think Nashville has various pieces that i would consider, picks aside

Like I said, I think, realistically, we could potentially do a VL + B Schenn + ??? and go for Josi and Wilson. Not sure that the ??? is though.

VL and Lauren Hart for Mike Fisher and Carrie Underwood.

then the Flyers would have to get Jeff Carter back so that...

Only in Nashville could a veteran 2nd/3rd line center be considered 100% untouchable.

Will offer them the video of Kate Smith, too.... think that'll get it done?

Reads like the same as all of the rumors floating around. Pure conjecture.

"Paul Holmgren said this week one of the reasons Vincent Lecavalier struggled is because Peter Laviolette, who recruited him, left, and Lecavalier wasn't a fit in Craig Berube's system. Is there a trade fit now that Laviolette is in Nashville? Flyers would probably have to eat a good chunk of his salary, but Holmgren and Poile have a history of getting deals done. "

Yes, pure conjecture.

Yeah, it's not like Hextall had veto power over contract decisions over the past 7-8 months... he was in a supplemental, support role, not an executive one.

With that said, he did admit that AMac was making too much money for his liking, which was interesting. He also revealed that AMac's agent thought they left money on the table... we'll see this summer.

Hopefully he's more of a pennypincher than Homer... cap efficiency does have a lot of room for improvement here.

This post caught my eye today.

Andy MacDonald is making too much. MacDonald's points this season came from a team that didn't have a true number one defenseman on it. Brayden Coburn in my opinion is very similar to MacDonald and had a pretty good point production when first coming to Philly until picking up Pronger, Carle and Meszaros. I actually believe Coburn is better then MacDonald. I don't even like MacDonald on the second unit of the power play but make no mistake, I do like the player. He's single handedly help turned Luke Schenn's game around...but still, MacDonald's Cap hit is way too high.

Ray Marcham ‏@rmarcham 6m

The only year that the #Leafs won the Cup where the NHL had more than 6 teams? 1932. The NHL had 8 teams that season.

- wilsonecho91

ouch.

you know what's also funny? the rangers have just 4 cups, only 1 in the last 74 years.
their first, in 1928 came as a result of scoring more goals in the first round series than the other team, the pittsburgh pirates. wtf is this? soccer?

anyway, 1 cup post-expansion, the only one in the last 74 years is (frank)ing brutal.

The Rangers have 1/2 Cup in the last 74 years. Half of that Cup belongs to Edmonton.

So, it is clear why Homer lied/dissembled about not being in any hurry to change seats etc? From all that has come out, it seems this move was months in the making. They were not ready to reveal things, I presume, but why be so categorical? Why not say - we will evaulate things etc.? I think it just makes the organization look really dumb.

nashville seems like one of the natural places we could get Hartnell to waive to move to. i don't know the history btwn him and Lavy though to know if there'd be interest.

I miss that so much. Nowadays, you'd never get that because the intermission is sent "back to the studio" so that Barkan and Tocchet can take 12 minutes + commercials to say nothing.

Snider said he was going to sit down and talk with him.

Maybe Homer was being very literal, and took his seat with him.

In all seriousness, though, if VL were willing to go to NSH (a stretch), it's not like they don't have a number of "bad" contracts they'd love to send back the other way -- Nystrom Gaustad, Stalberg, etc.
