and the coaches/management won't be either. he's shown he can be a leading scorer in the ahl, but needs work in other areas. the only way to find out is to give him a chance. what he does with that chance, is up to him.

I think there is a bit of a double standard with Akeson. If he was a first round pick, he would be in the lineup. There are a few players on this team who offer very little outside of a few things. I won't get into specific names, but I think we knew who they are.

Which is the worst part for Akeson. We have enough 1 way players on our team already.

Is this to happen before or after we remove the captaincy from him and give it to Sam Morin?

How dare you talk about about Hall, Grossmann, AMac and L. Schenn that way.

(At least you didn't call out the no-way players: Rinaldo, Rosehill.)

Don't you dare call Rosehill and his 14.3% shot% a no way player! Did you see his spin o rama goal?

So does anyone have some creative ways for this team to get better. Maybe some low risk/high reward deals that can help the team without tying there hands long term.

If I had to pick one it would be check into Michael Del Zotto and if vinny is willing to waive NTC, send Vinny to Nashville for Del Zotto and a pick. We keep some of the salary to get better pick.

Yeah get rid of vinny and grossmann/lschenn and you have 15mil in cap space to do whatever the hell you want to do.

No one is giving up anything significant for VL. Flyers will likely need to sweeten the deal just to have another team take him off their hands.

Grossman is easily replaced by Ron Hainsey for about a mill less.

Lecavlier's ice time becomes Akesons and Laughtons. Resign Hall as the 13th forward. Waive Rosehill.

I couldn't care less if Timonen comes back.

But that's not really the point. If Akeson can do the few things he can do well enough, he can play in the NHL. Which means he is going to have to score at a significant level, if he's a scorer, that brings little else to the ice. If he can add other elements to his game, then he has a a better chance. Players already on the roster who offer very little outside of a few things, do those things well enough to be a regular in the NHL.

If Akeson had been a first round pick odds are he'd be faster and stronger as well. There are reasons he went undrafted. Look, the kid might make it, I truly hope he does, but its still a longshot.

But like one of the things that sometimes slips through the scouts, is one thing Hextall talked about. And that's will. How much will does Akeson have?

the more I think about it, the less I like this idea (as I'm assuming that we won't get value for Vinny). Vinny will go on to succeed - i have a good feeling about that. I'd prefer to see it here than elsewhere, especially if the Flyers have to take a hit to move him. I'm leaning more towards moving B. Schenn for D help, etc or coming to grips with B. Schenn on the wing and sticking with it.

By saying this, by no means am I happy with it or endorsing the signing of Lecavalier in terms of $ or term.
