I'd like to know if the contract they just signed with AMac was Hextall's work or Homer's.

Do we know how long the iris held possession of the tear? Or was it held primarily by the cornea?

Did it attack the cheekbone from the left side, or the right?

This is important information.

- Moose_15

You can't just run a stopwatch to know how long it possessed the tear, but we can track it fairly accurately by tracking all tear shedding attempts (tears shed + choked back tears + idfk I'm done with this joke).

I'm still gathering information on how easily his cheekbone was able to hold the neutral zone when the tear fell.

That's an interesting question, but doesn't it have to be a case where they all have to be on the same page?

I mean, let's be honest: Hextall was brought back to be the GM. Pretty much everybody knew that. You'd think he had to be on board with that kind of acquisition and contract, wouldn't you?

Could be. The coach Lecavalier signed to play for is now in Nashville, and the GM who signed him is now club president.

Anyone know if Hextall had any words of praise / problems re: Brayden Schenn in their shared time in LA?

I think that's totally fair and the way to go about it -- really, there's no reason to be negative today. There really isn't.

The one thought I have -- and it's just a thought -- is that, as suggested earlier, maybe Hextall would pull the trigger on something that Homer wouldn't, because they are two different people.

Maybe Hextall, for example, views Sean Couturier as the second-line center on this team and Scott Laughton as the checking center, and he would get rid of Vinny AND Baby Schenn. Stuff like that.

This is an important offseason for the Flyers. I had a somewhat decent feel for how Homer would do stuff, if not the players he would look at.

Hextall...I don't know a damn thing. Should be interesting.

Thank you.

I hope this means he'll be patient.

On the development of Brayden Schenn:

“He’s probably, I think, where I thought he’d be right now. He’s a good player for us,he’s played very well. He’s probably been more of our more consistent guys– we have had some issues with consistency- and I think Brayden’s been one of the more consistent guys. We all want to rush too far ahead, it takes time- you look at Kopi or Doughty and these guys- it takes time for a young player to figure out all the new aspects of the game and just to become comfortable at this level and just start producing. That’s a hard thing to do at a young age and I think Brayden right now is probably right on par with where everybody thought. Part of the reason we traded him was because we had to speed up the process of where that team was going and that’s why when you get Mike Richards at 26, and Schenner I think was 20 at the time. That’s a big difference.”

So to be clear, we are not going to talk about Corsi today.

Is that right?

- Moose_15

Well the kings are built around an attention to advanced stats and corsi. I have a feeling the flyers may be heading down that route.

That's creative, and anything's possible now. Niskanen's gonna be costly, so you'd have to make sure you've got somewhere for Nicklas Grossmann to go. That'd be an expensive defensive corps, but it wouldn't be too old.

Really, the thing is this: Anything's possible now. I wouldn't be surprised at anything, now.

my theory is we might see some of these NMC contracts(Harntell,Vinny) moved. Makes it easier to push those guys out of here. Changes in a seat like that in the corporate world are always followed with a ax.

From your lips to Hexy's ears.

I would love to see a strong push to get Seth Jones. I would hope that Nashville would listen if it was something like Couturier, Hartnell and Lecavalier for Jones and a pick. I know people love Coots, but I do not see him getting to the offensive level of the current Selke nominees, but, rather, Handzus. Jones could become "The Guy." Even if Laughton performs at 75% of the defensive capability of Coots, I'd be happy.

Then sign a fast UFA winger for Giroux.

Nah I don't mean it like that.
Just that it is maybe the first move of Hexy to start seeing what he will be like.

I think and have said this before that Amac will help this team moving forward.
He had a rough series against the Rangers but so did a lot of guys.

My beef with the whole thing was giving up 2 picks to get him at the TDL, even if he helped them solidify a playoff spot.

For a team like the Flyers with their need for young guys at nearly every position giving up these picks was tough to swallow.
They were not true Cup contenders this season.
Waiting until free agency they could have still gotten MacDonald.

Maybe they wanted to see how he fit before giving him the deal, Idk.

I thought they should not have been buyers this season at the TDL, and would have liked to see them accumulate more draft picks with an eye to the future.

I'm with you. Now, I wouldn't mortgage the future because I think we have some talent coming-up but I like the guy. He's too brash, to emotional? Give me a break. Chris Pronger was cocky, Patrick Roy was out-spoken, Hextall was emotional. It didn't seem to hurt those guys. Hey, Sam Morin has a wild streak. Last night, Jeremy Roenick said Subban plays with an edge but that he should watch not to go over it. I say fair enough!

Yeah, but be fair: We're getting one of the picks back, for moving Meszaros. As much as I have some concerns about future usage of MacDonald, in essence, the Flyers got an NHL defenseman, 27 years old, for a pick.

That's not easy to do.
