# of retreats x calories in a Nutri Grain bar / (days in a moon cycle + number of times Homer has smiled in the past month) = CORSI...or something.

You forgot that Nutri Grain bars use GMOs so you gotta multiply them by 1.15.

1 goal in the last 14 playoff games..... He sucks.

Where's that NYR guy who was in here spouting off about McDonagh being a Norris candidate?

he's signed for the next 293 years though
- wilsonecho91

Until he's 38. He's a fluid skater and a smart player. I bet he holds up. Even if he regressed a little, his cap hit is $4M. That will be what 3rd pairing dmen make in 3 years.

Why is everyone in such a hurry to trade Laughton? Have you guys not watched the kid play? You should be excited to add him next season not trade him away for an aging Dman.
- mayorofangrytown

Ehrhoff is 31. I like Laughton a lot. I just think Ehrhoff would be a very good player for this team for 7 years. It's not like they'd be trading him for 3 years of an aging defenseman.

Yeah I would be ecstatic to get him without moving a young prospect. I would even do a 1st and a 3rd if need be.

He might still be serviceable by the end, but by then our group of kids would have already cracked the lineup and started taking the reins.

I'd rather assume the final two years of Brian Campbell at the higher cap-hit and retain some flexibility in the future.

He'll be making 1mil real salary vs 4mil cap hit. Can trade him to a team trying to reach the cap floor by that point.

Well actually landing the big fish free agent would be new. Big difference between going after, and landing.
- PLindbergh31

How do they magically "land" Niskanen, ensuring he doesn't notice the contracts from all the other teams?

So let me understand here. When Holmgren is "creative" and tries to get Weber, Suter, Parise, he's mocked for not getting the job done. But he'll also be mocked for not even bothering this offseason, to go after a player of lesser caliber than the ones he's tried to get? If Niskanen is so good, why didn't Shero get creative and resigned him during the season?

Yeah, glad to see him land in a nice situation. Great blueline, solid goaltending... and he can do wonders for their forwards.

Because Shero has puddles at his feet from the incompetence dripping off him. Duh.

But seriously.... The Pens have 25 million tied up in Crosby, Malkin, and Letang. Tough to add a fourth player with a cap hit of 7 million, and fill out a balanced roster.

I just think Ehrhoff would be a great calming influence on the kids. I see him as a similar player to Timonen. Having him and Coburn as your top pair will allow the kids to gradually take the reins.

The Flyers have never had trouble finding forwards in the first round. I like Laughton a lot, but his upside is a 2nd line center. I believe the Flyers have 2 future 2nd line centers and 1 top line center.

Ehrhoff would help the team now and later. He would give the Flyers a top pairing which costs $9.5M for the foreseeable future. That ain't bad.

I'll keep Laughton. I'm feeling like I need to stick with the youth movement and not add over 30 players like Ehrhoff and Lecavalier.

Minnesota? You kidding... They are cannon fodder for the Hawks. It's going to be a sweep.
