Yeah, he was pretty much given free rein to go go go in Sweden... then he comes over and they slapped the shackles on him right away. He's still trying to figure it all out.

I'm hoping the Flyers inquire about Kulikov. Hopefully, Tallon has lost patience with him and is willing to sell low on him, especially with new ownership willing to spend money. Only 23, a change of scenery could help turn him around.

true. wouldnt be a bad idea depending on the cost of acquisition. if you can buy low there, i would look at it. they have seemed willing to jettison him.

true. although i just feel like there definitely was a contrast in style there that had to be extra hard for him.

it really is the only way to acquire a d-man without overpaying substantially. The Flyers were successful in that approach acquiring Coburn and later Carle. Maybe Shero could be kind enough to trade Despres to the Flyers for a 3rd round pick and a career AHLer. Bortuzzo seems entrenched in the top 6.

I had just posted on the other thread that I wonder if Philly could trade Vinny(if willing to waive NTC) to another team where he can play center for someone elses bad deal. Maybe like the caps for Mike Green since they would like to move that and gives them a nice center since Brooks Laich is always injured. Anyone else think of some bad deals that you could trade for but still might help the team?

I dunno the idea of trading vinny is great but it's just 1 bad season who knows what he could do next season... sure we could get good value for him do it but to trade just to trade would be a mistake

When the Flyers win their next Cup, how many of the Bullies will still be alive?

the whole despres thing pisses me off. i think theyre really going to wish they had properly developed him once niskanen leaves. despres has all the tools, just needs to put it together. maybe he never will, but theres. like coburn, he is a tremendous skater for his size.

NJ made the mistake of rushing the kid, he should have stayed in Sweden for at least another year.

Pretty confident Shero will qualify him. However, I have to believe he is available, and the price probably won't be that high. They have really sent him back and forth between the minors and the big club. With other younger d-men in the pipeline, even with potentially losing Orpik and Niskanen, I wouldn't be surprised if he is dealt.

Perhaps fans in their early 20s and younger.

Can someone compile a list of Bullies players still in their 50s

I like the way they are handling Hägg, if all goes well he could be here in a year with maybe some spot games next year.

it would be a huge mistake to not qualify him. but yeah i imagine he wouldnt be that hard to acquire at this point. i think they did themselves a disservice by not developing him during the regular season. at the very least, theyve done nothing to help his trade value.

im just personally a pretty big fan of his, and think he had it in him to be a pretty good player, either with the team or as a valuable trade chip.

but you mentioned it already. there are a few guys in the system, and only so many spots. by all accounts, pouliot is pretty close. i like what ive heard about scott harrington as well. seems to be a different type of guy who excels more in his own end. dumoulin i feel will remain a fringe tweener type.

Saw him in a few with the Phantoms he and Alt looked decent to me as a pairing.

I would write over the last 5 years, generally speaking the organization really hasn't rushed anyone up to the big club. My concern is actually the development of Coots and B. Schenn once they were in the NHL, mainly how Lava used them. I don't think it was a matter they weren't ready to contribute at the NHL level.

Roland McKeown - Kingston - D - 2014 NHL Draft

"McKeown is a strong, do-it-all defensemen whose biggest asset is his ability to think the game and know his position. He makes strong, simple plays, has a good shot and distributes the puck effectively"

If we dump Vinny I'm getting my new center from Oshawa not the free agent market.
