Well...I thought Therrien was doing a good job of not entering into the Bruins thrash talk trap and mind games.
Didn't lasted long. |

You seem a little upset with Howard today. Did he not put any change in your cup this weekend? |

basically inferred that the racist tweets were at the urging of several high ranking Bruins executives and a few players, including Neely, Chara, Chiarelli, Julien, Marchand, Bergeron and Iginla. |

A late comment on PK Subban... sure to draw some ire... but hear me out, as I mean well...
My first exposre to PK was not good, as I had heard of him playing 'dirty'. And well, then him slew-footing Kris Kunitz didn't help his case with me. Nothing more, nothing less... just one of those dirty players in the game you love to have on your team, and hate to play against.
But here's my game... I think PK's biggest enemy is the NHL. Please let me explain... I think sports in general go overboard in declaring certain athletes to be 'superstars.' It seems nowadays that all you have to have is one good season, and WHAM, you are a superstar. Used to be you had to perform at a stellar level for years before you could be classified as so vaunted. I don't know... maybe it's social media... but I think it's also the leagues trying to promote their sports. And in my mind, with hockey being the ultimate team sport, I think the individual is often overplayed. (just like shoot-outs)
I think the NHL is SO starved to have a hero black player, they have put way too much pressure on PK. I'm in Pittsburgh, and I can tell you by far MOST hockey stories out of Montreal are about PK. They used to be about the Habs.
And I think Montreal is SO starved to have success, considering the failures of ALL the other north-of-the-border franchises, they simply play along with this, which also benefits PK in no way, and takes away from the team.
While I have seen PK steadily improve his game... and 'clean it up' quite a bit, too, I do not consider him a superstar, nor would I if I lived in Montreal. Now, if he has 3 or 4 more awesome seasons, then I will join the ranks and say he deserves the superstar label... because he's EARNED it over time.
Here in the 'burgh, we refer to PK as 'soupcan'. Why? Because it sort of sounds like Subban, and not unlike Progresso or Campbells, no matter what it's made out of, it's still soup in a can. PK is indeed an above average D-man, and if the ratings-hungry NHL and the success-starved Canadiens would go back to thinking team, they both would do the hockey world, and PK a world of good.
What happened in Boston was wrong, and inexcusable... without forgiveness, that is. The very town that had the heart and empathy of the nation in the very recent past really surprised me with this one. Shame on you, Boston.
Hero's like Guy Lafleur earned their superstardom. PK should, too.
