Coaching, management, whatever else.

The time has come to believe in the heart of this team. In the warrior spirit of those who are pushed to the brink of elimination.

The time has come to believe, when not yet all the lights have gone out, when things seem most dire. If this is to be their end, they should have it be such an end, as to be worthy of remembrance.

I will stand by the Finnish warhorse, and believe he will give it his all, in one last stand.

Let's Go Flyers!

More damagingly, after Scott Hartnell fell down and the Rangers started a 3-on-2 counterattack, the Rangers had multiple cracks at the net from in close.

Hartnell has a had a bad series but he was tripped from behind on this play. It wasn't one of his Hartnell Downs where he falls over without being touched.

Lundqvist had his best game in game 3, he stopped 4-5 really good chances.
Other then that he hasn't had to steal any games mainly due to the team D in front of him. But he also hasn't let in any soft goals that I remember.

- Marc D

Our two wins have came from our goalies stealing games. The O simply has to step up. It is so frustrating to watch and you are right he hasn't stole any games for them.
Still believe the Flyers have another gear somewhere, as they look nothing like the team that was rolling in March.

Yeah they showed that on the replay. He was tripped up.

They seem to be playing scared, as if they play Flyers hockey (IE being aggressive and hitting) they will get penalties.

They have to drop Vinny back to the 4th line.
- CACannon18

Please.

Although I'm with the others... get Rinaldo and/or VL out of there and let's see what Laughton's capable of. Hell, throw Holmstrom in there too.

I've been kind of wondering this too.

I hop, being pushed to the brink, will get them to finally play this way. Now or never, leave it all out there. Empty the tank.

At this point secondary scoring issues and matchups aside, you want Giroux to carry them. As he has so often done.

Yes.... Gus would work with Luke Schenn.

Gus >> Gill... Rangers' forwards aren't exactly punishing down low, and the Flyers need all the help they can get breaking out and navigating the neutral zone.

For one time in this series the Flyers need to come out of the locker room READY TO PLAY. This easing into the game has got to stop. Why they can't be fired up to play like the Rags are is beyond me. Maybe if someone would steal all the Rangers jerseys and replace them with Penguins jerseys this team will want to play hard.

I would not be surprised to see them win tomorrow night; they've been rather resilient all year.

But winning a Game 7 in MSG seems a tall order at this point.

As soon as I heard Grossmann was down, my first thought was "this is why they keep Hal Gill around".

After yesterday's game, I think unless the cupboard goes bare, that's the last we will have seen of Hal Gill.

And the last time Streit and MacDonald played a full game together they were great at generating offense.

Lundqvist has barely been tested. I give credit to the Rangers defense. They have played well. As expected. But the Flyers have only played well in short stretches in this series. Not consistant. Dont even compare goaltending stats either. Emery played 3 games and we are still in it.
- GOA88

If Lundqvist has barely been tested, it's difficult to evaluate his play as "average" no?

http://www.extraskater.co...ers/goalies?sit=5v5&pos=G

From a "fancy stat" page, but not really a fancy stat in and of itself. He leads the playoffs in 5v5 save percentage. Not exactly "average". Does shot quality come into play? Sure, but average?

IMO, that number has just as much to do w/ the Flyers' ES futility as it does Hank having been awesome.

Right, the Flyers haven't generated quality shots consistently enough. I guess I'm splitting hairs over whether you can call the guy only average so far or not, given that he hasn't been tested enough, and when he has, he's for the most part done what he's supposed to do

I said yesterday it would make a lot of sense to replace Rinaldo and Gill with Laughton and Gus. It was quickly rebuffed.

It's imperative to keep a slower version of Grossmann in the lineup. Also those 4 minutes Rinaldo is playing are top notch.

The solution to this series is actually a fairly simple one. Giroux needs to be the best player on the ice. If he does that the next two games, we move on without a doubt.

I agree and the key is to get the PP going, crash the net and do whatever is necessary. PP seems to be what gets this team going.

The more I watch the Rangers play, the more I believe Bob Gainey had just started tripping off three lines of cocaine with an LSD chaser when he decided to call Glen Sather about Scott Gomez.

2009/06/30: New York Rangers traded Scott Gomez, Tom Pyatt and Mike Busto to the Montreal Canadiens for Christopher Higgins, Ryan McDonagh, Doug Janik and Pavel Valentenko.

That just might be the single worst trade in the last 25 years. I'm dead serious. They say Gainey did it because he wanted Gomez to play with Brian Gionta, but that can't be it. There had to be hookers, photographs and blackmail involved.

If not the best player on the ice, at least better than Dominic Moore.

Gill is useful down low in your own zone on the wall. He can use his body to separate the puck from the player. But in front of the net I always wished he would be meaner. A bit too passive in that regard for my liking.

I thought Gus should have been in before Gil. He didn't cost them the game but I wonder if the more sure handed and offensive minded Gus buries that open net opportunity Gil had early in the game? It would be nice to get that first goal and get crowd pumped. It wouldn't hurt see Gus with Luke and Streit and Mac. Top 9 forwards are just frustrating right now it would help to have a goal or two from Couturier and B Schenn either!

I just hate the losing handshake line at home. Win tomorrow. Whatever else happens I can forget over the summer if I have to.

Stop being so negative, he could be hurt or just not in the mood, either way he CARRIED them into the playoffs even with good goaltending amd 6 other twemty goal scorers... Geez what the hell was team canada thinking by not having him... Its not like they needed another gold medal
