Awesome. Yes, she's quite the talent. I just loved watching the last Olympics when Canada played both the US (talk about getting @#$@#!$@$ hosed by the ref) and France. Great stuff

F*ck, was I ever angry at the blatantly ridiculous callS Canada should have got the Gold, but just like in every sport, there is always going to be some sort of inherently inequitable variables (many of which are non-sports related unfortunately

Big Premier League fan? (my Mom loves Euro-ball - well, it's kind of a no-brainer as she's Polish-German - although if you can believe, she's also been a HUGE hockey fan ever since her and my Pop signed me up when I was 7)

Yep, watch just about every EPL game on the weekends, best Euro football there is. Next to the World Cup that is, but that only happens once every 4 years.

it's like the NHL of Football (Soccer ugg) - the Premier League, that is.

I always enjoy watching the World Cup, though. It should be a great tournament, especially given it's in Brasilia this time around.

Edit: Champions Cup is also quite interesting

I probably watch about 3 matches per week (more if the Champions League is on). Although the EPL is enjoyable I do sorely miss watching Spain's La Liga on TV. (frank)ing TV rights have robbed us from any La Liga, Serie A, or Ligue 1 games for the past 3 years, although I did recently read that Rogers cable now has the channel that covers them.

Good tides for Hali fishing today!!

I've been scouring the prospect pools for a good trade out there, not as easy as it may first appear!!

Personally I only enjoy the big Champions League games and Euro/World Cup. Of the major sports, baseball is the only one I can never fully get into.

Yeah baseball holds zero entertainment value for me. At least cricket doesn't try to pretend like it's an action-packed sport but one look at Sportscentre and you'd think baseball was edge-of-your-seat excitement.

I used to play basketball fairly heavily in high school but veered away from it over the years and now haven't watched a game in years. Over time you realize that you have to almost have circus-freak dimensions to be able to play the sport at a high level which loses it's appeal to me. I remember seeing Kobe surrounded by hordes of people as he walked through the Santa Monica promenade in LA following their first championship and the guy looked like an oak tree among shrubbery. Plus that sport stops way too friggin much. Get rid of the time-outs already. Only basketball can stretch out the final 20 seconds of game clock to over 5 minutes of actual time including 2 commercials breaks.

NFL is a great sport but again, I'd still prefer if they stopped less. TV advertisement has ruined much of the North American sporting experience IMO but you gotta pay the bills so...

US sports are designed for the attention span of the average American, how long does it take to run a play in the NFL or throw a pitch in baseball?

Baseball is just so slowly paced. Don't think I'll ever get into it or golf(watching) even when I'm older

I can't get into the NBA regular season much, I'll follow the headlines, standings and highlights, but that's about it. I'll watch full games during the playoffs though. NFL, is basically like the NHL for me in terms of passion. I'll even watch entire Eagles pre-season games.

Fantasy Football has become such a big and popular business, plus people love betting on NFL games as well. And every game is so important with only 16 regular season games and a week to hype up the games so people will always put up with the commercials.

So we need about 7 guys to be top 5 so we can get the guy we want at 6?

Not sure what to make of this, it's really just his opinion and he's saying "argument". Isles are our only hope to grab someone outside of the top 5 IMO. Sound slike EDM wants Bennett now. So I expect it to go:

1. Reinhart(BUF)
2. Ekblad(FLA)
3. Bennett(EDM)
4. Dal Colle(CGY) - Would love to see Burke reach for Ritchie, but it's a long shot.

Then you have the Isles with Draisaitl/Nylander/Ehlers/Ritchie on the board.

Didn't even have my phone with me, dead battery, so no tunes for my morning bike ride...

But I guess I shouldn't be surprised by the name, I live in Richmond after all...

Edm isn't picking Bennett even though they should.
Panthers taking Ekblad 1st is practically a no brainer. I think its 50/50 on Florida taking either Bennett or Reinhart.
Drasaiti even though he's a reach will end up in Alberta. If Reinhart is available then edm takes him if not then they pick the German.
I'm actually optimistic MDC falls to canucks at 6. I've seen a lot of these guys and while its all opinion at his point I see MDC as the by far best forward and Bennett as by far the 2nd best. I pray the canucks don't move up for Reinhart.

St. Louis needs more depth at center, perhaps a shutdown guy like Kesler.
