Except where I live... Where it is staunchly the opposite.

tyranny of the masses, female dog.

I'm curious though... would you say people are more conservative for social reasons(ie- bible thumpers) or economic reasons(dislike big government)?

Definitely economic.

Under the conservatives we had a LOT more prosperity and development of our infrastructure here than we had under previous administrations.

We're pretty sparsely populated, but on average have a lot more money than most. Farms are typically incorporated, so lower corporate taxes help out a lot as we typically have to spend a lot of our own money to fix the absurd number of roads we have for such a small population base.

When government is bigger, those tend to crumble as more money gets spent on federal taxes that never really makes it back to these areas due to the small but financially stable population.

EDIT: I can't say for sure that's true from the other people in the area, but it is where I grew up/live. Agriculture, Oil and Mining rules everything here. A relatively monstrous number of businesses compared to the number of people.

Farms should probably be in a tax bracket of their own, eh?

You need to keep corporations responsible, because they generally don't act in the country's best interests, but farmers should not get screwed over, since, you know, they feed everyone.

It's pretty (frank)ed up that the political climate makes you chose between a party that's good for civil liberties, and not great for businesses, and one that's great for businesses but bad for civil liberties.

WHY CAN'T WE HAVE ONE THAT'S JUST GOOD?

A chart showing how much money is made, definitely disproves the idea that the government was slashing budgets across the board to help prop up an industry that's struggling.... just so they could say there was no deficit.

So, it's not just a strawman, but a red herring too!

Throw in the countless false dichotomies, appeals to popularity, appeals to authority, no true scotsmans, and begged questions, and Dopps is a fallacy machine.

best part was when he called you an uninformed voter (like an bumhole, btw) and he has been a veritable fountain of misinformation regarding these matters and any others as long as anyone on this website has known him.

Each side in a debate / argument over an issue, will always over exaggerate their position and distort their opponents POV ......... so you have to listen / Read both sides and make up your own mind.

At the end of the day there will be a defining edge on a given matter.

Example : leaf fans think their team is in a "Better Situation" than the Sens, and vice versa..........then at the end of the season, the standing will tell the story.

So, if one side, lets say the side on the left, looks at a simple math problem, lets say 1+1, and decides that it is 2... do you think we should listen to another side, say on the right, that says 1+1=3 because it says so in the bible, and then come to a compromise somewhere in the middle?

Just curious.

Who said anything about compromise. You asked if the LWPMSM was full of shit, then the Right Wing Media outlets should also be FOS.

I answered it's up to you (the individual) to see both sides presented by the Left and the Right, and make up your own mind.

Like how he presents a Math question, that can be definitively be proven to be right or wrong. But the Bible, on the other hand, cannot.
