I think Linden's out of town making friends, don't expect anything until Monday. |

I have no problem of trading the 6 th Hansen and Shink for Kane but don't see much point in the 2nd round stuff. leave it simple.
KB for Schenn straight up is fine also.
Replace KB toughness with Engelland cheaper. He can be 5/6 pairing. - VANTEL
We need the picks to add as sweeteners. We don't have the luxury of top rated prospects that we can trade to get better now. These picks are all we have. |

If we all posted what we were thinking this place would be a lot more "interesting". |

But I always post what I think .......................................................................................................................... Eklund is a very smart person and has reputable sources around the league. |

@imacVanSun: Linden back from Detroit, where he met with Neely. #Canucks starting hockey-ops summit. Lots to come. http://t.co/EKET7L9V9C
Doesn't sound like Linden's going to rush into firing him anytime soon. |

True, but you can't ignore the fact that it was the first draft in a very, very long time in which management actually emphasized, and fully participated in.
When was the last time we actually gained picks as opposed to trading them, or picked in the top ten, or arguably had one of the better selections through rounds 1-5 in the league.
You repeatedly bashed Gillis for missing the gun, playing catch-up and side-stepping issues, then when he finally did something significant and progressive, you discount it.
Fact is he realized the team was slowly dying and as opposed to trading future assets in an attempt to maintain a playoff hope, made some tough decisions that i believe will ultimately pay dividends down the road. - Whiskey-Tango
Didnt Gillis trade yet another second away for Derek Roy in that last draft? Have I remembered wrong? If not, its status quo except for the Horvat trade.

I do agree with your opinion that selling off Daniel Henrik Kesler Burrows is NOT the way to go, I do however agree with trading Kesler. He has value to go along with a good cap hit.
BUT - the bolded is just not correct IMO, Gillis did not see what happened last year coming or he wouldn't have signed Higgins and Hansen to long term deals with NTC's. Mike Gillis should have been using asset management to change the club EVERY year he was here!! He didn't; early on he injected players into the lineup, the last two he did very little of it.
He should have traded Schneider a year earlier, he should have traded Edler when he had the chance, he should of done a lot of things he didn't. The teams you mentioned make subtle changes every year, we haven't the past couple of years unless it was forced upon us by injuries. - LeftCoaster
