Dear Bloated,
Your tradition of support has been - and continues to be - a key part of our success. You’re as much a part of the energy and passion of Canucks hockey as is our team on the ice.
The deadline for renewing your Canucks Ticket Package has now passed, and your tickets may be at risk of cancellation. Our records indicate that you have chosen not to renew your seats for the 2014.15 season. If this is an error, please submit your renewal by Thursday, April 24 so we dont release your seats accidentally. Wed love to have you on board for another season of Canucks hockey.
Don't forget that your 2014.15 ticket membership deposit will be fully refundable until this July 11, which is after the NHL Entry Draft and the start of free agency so that you can be confident in what we are doing to build a winning team.
If you have any questions about renewal, please call 604.899.GOAL (4625). We’re eager to help in any way.
Thanks again, and we hope we can count on your support for the coming season.
Sincerely,
VANCOUVER CANUCKS - bloatedmosquito
Kind of a no-brainer to renew then see what happens in June/July, no? |

Ok, feel free to bring out the angry mob with torches and pitchforks (man, people were @##$ hardcore in the early 18th century), but I feel we should not buy out Booth. He was arguably one of the Canucks best players over the last month or so and barring injuries (yes, BIG IF) I think he can be productive under the right system. He's still only 29, he's big, he goes to the net, and he has good speed and a good shot. Oh, and also he's a Moosewhisper and wears deer heads at his wedding. |

I really hope this was a retype and not a cut and paste.
The letter has a tone of desperation in it. Hopefully this does not meant that we just strive to make the playoffs. I would rather miss the playoffs again if that means that we retool properly. But if we will trade our future for rental types that I would rather have Gillis back. At least he could sign some good bargain free agents. |

I think Virtanen is a big time boom or bust pick, if he can translate his goal scoring a physical play into the NHL then great, because he doesn't bring much else.
Ritchie still scares me, like Kassian I think his upside is a 2nd line PWF(he's more of a shooter than Kassian though). Ehlers has 1st line offensive upside IMO.
Nylander's hard for me to judge, he has sick hands, but he has way more time and space over in Europe that he's gonna have here. He's also soft. I'd say he's less NHL-ready than the other guys by a decent margin, but if his offensive game does translate into the NHL down the road then he has legit 60+ point NHL upside IMO. - Nucker101
Virtanen is still young for this draft. He is only a month and half older than Jack Eichel who is in next years draft. Fastest skater both ways at the prospect game. He is going to put up big numbers next year in Junior. |

I agree, but for very different reasons. He only has one year left, cap space isn't really an issue next season provided they don't sign any ridiculous free agents. He's not a terrible player, even if he's only playing 8 minutes per night on the 4th line, there is much better use of team resources if they want to buy out a player (with a longer contract). Let him walk in the off season, or trade him at the deadline for a draft pick |

I'm okay with booth coming back, give him the summer of training and see what he can do in camp etc. He was a different player down the stretch. Doesn't seem like we are icing to win the cup so why not. Not sure enough guys will be pushing from below yet. |

If you want to develop a group of young players together like that. Bieksa is exactly the guy you want to keep. good work ethic, good personality, team first mentality.
He should be wearing the C next year.....Just like Mitchell should have before he left. - numbear
Bieksa has always been the laziest top 4 Dman on the roster. Also for years he would beat guys up over little personal things out on the ice but not pound someone for cheap shots or intended injuries on team mates. He's also the guy making injury excuses at the end of the season for his playoff suckage but continuing to play in the World Championships instead of treatment and rehab (like last season).
I wouldnt go as far as to say keep him away from our young players but the crap you are saying is comical. Bieksa is not a good leader. Look at him in our big playoff run while in leads,,, he's making fun of the oppositions players through the media like he's on Johnny Carson. He did it every single round and couldnt shut up about players hair cuts and poop. Thats not how your veteran leaders should act possibly supplying the enemy with motivation or support for their team mates.... let the opponents keep them selves down..... it was clearly all about Bieksa when ever a camera or mic happened to be around.

Bieksa isn't going anyway. You could put a gun to his head and threaten Russian Roulette to waive his NTC; he would still smirk at you and say "No Way"
Exactly, the guy who should be our new captain should management decide that the Sedins be transitioned into a secondary role. - Chest Rockwell

Good stuff Mosquito. Fans voting with their wallets is the only thing this ownership group will understand.

In other words, "I read the Province and MacIntyre and Botchford's articles. I was also scrolling through HB the other day and saw this guy called Marwood praying for Torts to be fired, like, every single day. Plugging all 3 sentiments into my proprietary Darren Dreger algorithm and voila, I've come to the conclusion that Torts gets canned next week. Maybe." |

If we don't project any player at that #6 pick having legit 1st line upside we should package the pick and trade it without thinking twice. |

Even more incentive for him to have a great year and for the Canucks to retain his services through 2015. At that point it should be clear whether or not he's regained some of his Florida form or if he should get out of hockey and start franchising his hedgehog/wolverine taxidermy business
Either way it should hopefully be a win-win situation (other than for the Moose community) |

That's the thing, the only guys that hold that potential are risky as (frank).
If all goes according to "plan", i personally see Ehlers, Nylander( if he can survive the N.A game) and Kapanen having the potential. |

I'd rather package the pick and get a young player of budding NHL quality. I've seen the percentages of draft picks succeeding and it ain't pretty. |

Wow the Wings look like a different team in this game vs Game 3. Zetter and Bert seemed to have made a difference.
Interesting side note by the announcer: Detroit's entire 2nd PP unit tonight played in the playoffs for Gran Rapids last season. |
