Anyone else a little surprised we haven't heard anything on the Matt Cooke suspension yet? - Chest Rockwell
I'm waiting for the news of a 'certain someone' getting their ass fired. |

So I doubt Van wants to trade in division, and I realize (not trolling, being honest) that van fans on this site are a bit hoerish with trade proposals, but ANA matches up great for kesler and elder. A package that STARTS with vatanan, ott's 1st, and rakell for both. I think more would be needed to given by ANA but I think thats a solid starting point. So assuming Gibson and Lindholm are off limits, how would you make a trade that works for both? - ChrisMS

Kesler for Teravainen would be a start.
But, I'm not sure if Chi does that deal. I can only hope that Kane demands it gets done, or he throws another hissy fit, cabbie beating session. - moondawg
Once Pittsburg is knocked out they are going to be looking again for checking center like Kesler to bring back the days of Stall.
I personally LOVE the idea of possibly obtaining Derrick Pouliot. They make em right out is Saskatchewan.

Doesn't look like PIT is going to get eliminated until at least the 2nd Round. Would be an entirely different story if CLB could hold a lead or stop getting scored on shorthanded. |

brown's production also stems from his time on the top line with kopitar. during the '12 playoffs, it was brown, kopitar and williams on the top line. with gaborik, they dont' need brown on the left side of kopi. but even with that change, his play has fallen off. he's gone from being an on the edge player to over the edge, making plenty of questionable hits and taking bad penalties. usually that happens when you're a step behind the play.
richards is more of a headscratcher. he's fallen off mightily from his philly days, and you can argue part of it is that he's not getting 20 min a night as 1c. but carter is doing just fine as 2c with good production, and sutter wants to spread the depth to have him and stoll as 3c and 4c, but 15 min a night isn't working for him, with a smidge of pp2 time.
at 5mm each, its not unfathomable to think one gets dealt. dont forget, brown was nearly gone at the deadline in '12 before heating up. i'd be more than glad to roll the dice with a richards for kesler trade. - hiway39
Mike Richards ain't getting you Kesler. Not without something big besides him. Or LA keeps some salary. |

The Bergenheim hit changed MR for good. He has not been the same, bu then again, he hasn't been the Philly MR since he's been here. On one of the Kings show, they did a piece on him and his adjustment to life in SoCal (pre-Carter reunion) and he made references to somethings that seemed to be exactly what ailed him: taking surfing lessons, enjoying the beach, etc... My point is that his focus was not on hockey the way it was in Philly. IMO he's lost his passion for the game. Not wearing a letter really affected him, he talked about being just one of the guys in the room, as if it was a positive, but to a natural leader, it isn't a positive, it's a deflation. When, in 2012, the kids were brought up and he centered them, it rekindled his fire, he took ownership over their mentorship, and was a mini-captain, to them at least and their line. He played better and harder. And I also feel, and I don't know him personally, but I truly believe that he can't stand Brown and the fact that he's his captain. BROWN SUCKS. If he's not playing with great offensive players, he sucks. He has a terrible hockey IQ, hands of granite, cannot make a tape to tape, will not wait for a play to develop but would rather send a weak shot towards the net instead of looking for the open man (check out the 4-3 last night, came down the right side had a trailer coming into the slot and took a terrible weak shot with a dman right in front of him) and he kills absolutely all momemtum established by his linemates with stupid shot/passes. IMO MR cannot stand playing with Brown and I'm sure even Kopi feels the same but neither would ever say so to anyone. Brown is a black hole where possession and pucks go to die.
I would gladly give up Brown for Kesler if VAN was in the east, but on really thinking about it, if Brown would be moved (even to a team in the west), I think MR's game might find its pulse again, which would have a higher ceiling than Browns. - Stu17

You know, I was really happy Kesler wasnt traded at the TDL. Not because I like him or think we cant be a good team without him but because of the long string of horrible trades made by MG. In the end, watching two elite goalies turn into gambles on Horvat, Markstrom and a 3rd liner only, I simply knew this trade had to wait. The next GM may drop the ball on a Kesler trade but I didint have any faith at all that Gillis could find a trade that didnt have gamble written all over it. Im sure the fact that kesler didnt put the Panthers on his list took Gillis out of his comfort zone anyways. - boonerbuck
Good point. MG has been raped so many times he can't sit down. |

Pretty much. Rumor has it that when MG saw Dave Tallon's number on his call display he would answer the phone by asking: "is it in yet?" |

Glad to see CLB come back and tie it up. That franchise deserves it; Doug Maclean was their GM. |

I think it's been determined that Duncan Keith (from whom said comments apparently originated) is not exactly the brightest bulb in the box |

The BJ`s baby!
Loving Dallas`s fight as well. Although the Ducks should still win I did think they looked like prime fodder for a playoff upset. Boudreau is a great regular season but in the playoffs... |
