They are lodaed at center . I see them taking Bennett and playing him on the wing or Ekblad as Jovanowski is getting ready to retire. - Maximum Signal
So was Colorado. |

And they moved Reilly to wing but started Mackinnon at wing . Reinhart does not fit in Florida as well as Bennett. I still think they go Ekblad.

Girgensons spent a year in the AHL . Reinhart coming from CHL cannot do that . You need to get the facts straight - Maximum Signal
The point is, if the Sabres were so he11 bent that "the only right way to groom a prospect is in a winning AHL environment..."
Then why wasnt their prized possession Girgensons there in Rochester, doing just that, while he is able to take his time and do so? Just like Teddy Nolan says PK Subban did? Girgensons didn't light up the AHL in points?
Fact is, they want their players to be good. And if they can run with the big boys, thenSabres are gonna let em do it. because that's what the best draft picks do. |

They have 2 D men under contract for next year so you would think Ekblad but IMO, it's Reinhart. |

Boston's not trading a vital part of their core while they are a contending team. - Sabresfan-365
Is Marchand really that vital to Boston though?
Certainly he'd be much more valuable to a team like the Sabres, with such a bare cupboard of forwards.
I mean, Raask, Bergeron, Krejci, Lucic, Chara, Iginla, Eriksson, Dougie Hamilton... Then toss Ehrhoff into the mix? I don't think they're lost with Brad Marchand. |

Because he spent ayear doing a great job developing and by the end of the year was Rochester best player. PK Subban played in a year in the AHL as well after playing his full stint in Junior . You really need to study this stuff |

There are also many players that jumped into the league right away and have been more than fine. Not every player needs the AHL to develop, and they don't have to be Crosby caliber to fall in that category. That's what I'm afraid of. Putting a player in the AHL/Juniors for the sake of not playing him in the NHL can be just as harmful as what happened to Grigorenko. |

Yes Marchand is a core player in Boston . You really need to follow things better. But the again you have Vokoun in net next game in Pittsburgh when he has not played all year,

Can anyone answer this question:
If a team gets a bench minor, does the player who serves it get credit for the PM? |

In other words, when you have a chance to get a player that is that good, you do it, and move players around to make it work, which is what Florida will probably also do. |

They had to have come in to better situations than here . This just not a healthy situation to bring a youngster into . Unless they are really special.

Then you go with Ekblad as by all accounts he is the player most ready to jump direct into the NHL

So what? Girgensons had a great playoffs? Let him go back there and develop his consistency and offensive scoring touch.
Don't you think hed benefit long term from honing his offensive touch for a yr in the AHL? Isn't that the mantra? |

It sounds like it's a wash between Ekblad and Reinhart in that regard. It all comes down to their management's preference. If they think Reinhart is the better player, they're going to take him, regardless of who they have at center. |

I'd like to see Ehrhoff to Boston for a guy like Brad Marchant.
A gritty 25yr old goal scorer to replace Stafford in your top 6.
He's got a past with Nolan and you've got the cap space to lock him up for 5yrs. - SuperCat
I NEVER want that piece of poop on our team...i dont' care how good he is...he's also the one that trash-talks buffalo all the time |

Im not even a huge miller fan but this is getting rediculous. People on this website need to calm their sh*t. If st louis traded for him there was a reason, clearly they thought he was good enough towin them a cup. Cant be that bad |

notice how he has not played the whole season
- Maximum Signal
Vokoun was hurt in the perseason and has been injured. He's worked his way back, and is ready to go.
After Flureys meltdown last yr, the whole idea of him attampting to comeback is to be an insurance policy in the playoffs... And thats what he is.
After Flurey cost the Ens the game tonight, why wouldn't you want to shake things up? It's not like you can't pull Vokoun if it goes south? |

You could have taken any of our last 5 goalies to start a game for us this year and they wouldn't have fared worse than Fleury has. |
