if the leafs contemplate any trade nonis had better be thinking with that same logic
I really think if he works hard at it he could find a good trading partner |

Ottawa wont add Money. they would be paying Spezza 4 mil.
Clarkson and Kadri make 7.8 next year
oh and trading clarkson would be like winning the mega lotto - senstroll
Apart from the mega lotto probably doesn't come with a prize worth around $30m |

Shot attempts gives you a much larger pool of data, using Goals (to rare an event) or even scoring chances there is not enough esp when using 5v5 5v5 close etc.as the best indication - senstroll
I agree to an extent. The large pool of data is key, but there's too many kids pissing in it. The reasons for this have been discussed to death in these threads (eg. unscreened shots from the blueline have the same value as a clean breakaways). If you take the large pool of shot attempt data and qualify it with the ratio of legit scoring chances, it's going to give you a much stronger indication of how a team's performing, no? |

i think its safe to say clarkson will be here for a few more years.
replace the coach, bring in a D man who is known to be good in his own end and resign some (not all) of the FAs and I will call the off-season a success. |

a lot of people smarter than me are not able to come up with a system you describe.
not to say its cant be done. I followed a leafs fan who tried to track a shot quality system that some thought Carlyle used.. since the leafs were able to win somehow..for a bit... well that didnt last..that was obliterated

Orpik, Greene, Niskanen or Mitchell for UFA options, Gudbranson, Sustr, DeKeyser, and on a lower scale, ellerby, for RFA options. Wasn't there a rumour of a Gudbranson-Gardiner swap before? That would make hh happy. |

Yes why are the laffs soft as slime? Is it because they don't hit the weight pile?
What a bunch of bs. I wonder how many concussions Johnny bower got playing against the likes of jfj sr. I hit the weight pile and I play real hockey so I am hard to play against. I'm very hard to play with as well. Did I mention that I play real hockey so I don't have to worry about this bs? |

my top Targets would be Niskanen he is 27..some good stats
Tom Gilbert 31, would be good value at around 1 mil like Ranger
Stralman, only 27..underrated imo. was cheap..if he still is..would be a solid pickup
dump Dion and Franson if you could get those 3
now someone make me a D lineup with those changes

i know just remember it was a rumour from beforehand. though, i wouldn't be surprised if they go back to it now after the collapse. not to mention he's a right handed shot, something we lack. franson was our only right handed shot. |
