SJ showed the importance of the bottom 6 in the playoffs. Again Raffe Tores involved with teams that will make a cup run.

Man they looked strong last night; very very deep hockey team, I think they've finally got the combination of players to make a run at Mr. Stanley.

Yup they do .

The thing I don't like about their cup run is Vancouver needs an overhaul with their personnel and lots of fans will say if SJ can tweak so can we. Our roster is no where close to theirs.

They have a handful of top six players and depth players, we don't, there-in lies the difference.

Thornton
Marleau
Pavelski
Couture
Burns
Hertl

That's a nice top six right there: A lot of change needed on our roster to compete with that!

From what I have seen of Horvat this year he reminds me of Hodgson, only better defensively. I have heard the comparisons to Toews in a couple of years , I seriously doubt it.

Shink is a mystery, great offensive upside good speed and tricky quick shot.

Cedarholm stay at home D man with some fight. 5/6 Dman

Lain Fox ? who knows.Lain needs to play a whole hell of a lot tougher and meaner or else a Comet for life. Fox haven't seen his play one shift so can't judge.

Archibald Schroeder, not impressed.

Gaunce meh.

Cassels high hopes of a very good third liner.

We need help fast

The good is Lack Kassian Mathias Tanev COrrado.

Those kids mean absolutely nothing until they prove they can play at the NHL level, as of right now, they're simply prospects. That said, from what I've seen, Horvat is a much better skater than Cody Hodgson, not an elite skater by any means but definitely quicker and plays a 200 foot game.

We need more immediate help through a trade and an infusion of youth but don't want to push these young guys along too fast and hurt their development.

Torts been fired yet?

I agree let them develop.

I have no problem being a bottom feeder for another year and letting the kids develop.

Torts is the perfect coach to make these NTCs go away and ensure a high draft pick. I would rather watch a season of Slapshot hockey over a year of cycling the puck and scoring our one goal a night.

Sedins train in MMA in the off season and come back as bad asses.

There's a generation of talent missing because of Mike Gillis there. No push from 2009, 2010 or 2011 kids. Schroeder is a small player that can't supplant Hank or Kesler at center, although he could be given a shot at the 3rd line role? Regardless, I did then and do now hate that selection.

2010 traded away, (frank), could have Brock Nelson or Charlie Coyle pushing for a spot.
2011 Jensen looking like he needs more seasoning, but at least he's something pushing for playing time.

The 2009 & 2010 drafts really annoy me!!

I really hope the Canucks do nothing this summer to upgrade the team short term. No UFA signings, and if Edler and Kesler are traded, they better not bring back anything that will help us next year.

We do have the players next year to take a serious run at McDavid if nothing is done.

Interesting that you think Gaunce is "meh" and have Cederholm as a 3rd apriing dman, he's a long shot to even become a #7 or #8 guy IMO.

Gaunce 3 rd line winger.

Cedarholm is Willie Mitchell's clone.

The worst thing about being a bottom feeder is the rebound is not guaranteed. How many years has Edmonton been in this rebuild? If we tank and screw up our selection then we are in worse shape and in the rebuild longer.

The idea of landing a McDavid and the great impact he could have to this team....

The number of ntc's is ridiculous and if we could move one or more of the four dmen for a top6 finisher who can score 25 a year... the idea of tanking another year or so wouldn't even be entertained.

Unfortunately, I think you are correct about the ntc's, Torts is needed to push some of them out... but it is also scary to think some of these core guys sounded like they wanted to defend Torts when they were clearing out their lockers and take all the blame.
