Maybe a bit of frustration, but it's more his own coachability than a culture of losing that's effecting him. He certainly needs a good center and sheltering in some offensive situations if he's gonna break out. I would give him another season at least before I read his career it's last rights.
- Jeropotato

Oh I agree he certainly not done but there a strong possibility that he's a flop. Of coarse next yr he could be worth almost as much as Gardiner.

Yep, he very well could be a flop. Still too early to tell. Lot's of high 1st round picks have flopped as well as taken 2-3 seasons to break out.

Whats a reasonable age for him to develop into solid NHL'er? 2 seasons? 3?4?
- Jeropotato

Well, he's already a solid NHLer, no question about that. Whether he's a top 6 is doubtful, at least presently.

Look at how long Bertuzzi, Lucic, Backes etc took to develop. I think it has more to do with age then seasons in the bigs

But that only applies to big power forwards. Small,Skilled wingers who struggle at 19 tend to fail more often than not.

The big power forwards always take longer to develop. Kassian is far from the 1st guy of his nature to take a long time to figure it out.
- Bieksa#3

Oh ya I agree i think Kassian has the potential ... He has to become more consistent in other aspects to his game other than offense too tho ... If within 5 years he is supposed to be a legit top 6 power forward he needs to not disappear for stretches playing on a 3rd line ... If he can bang and crash on a regular basis and be more of a force then I'll become more of a believer

I question whether it can work under Eakins. DE was far harder on him the the other kids, and rather then dig in and man up Yaks chose to pout. Might all wash out with a great start next season

Hope so. Fortunately he isn't the guy we need to pin our hopes on. Would be a different story if it was Hall that was struggling.

Chicago sure could use a Selke winning centre right about now.

Terrible comparison .... How many players have been forced to retire due to being speared ... You've obviously never had a concussion.... Ask chris pronger if he would take a few shots to the groin over his career ending concussions
- Redmile247

There's no (frank)ing excuse to spear someone. There are plenty of excuses for hitting someone. IMO they should punish dirty non-hockey violence WAY harsher than unfortunate results from a hockey play. I've been pissed off enough to drop the gloves plenty of times, but I only had 2 anger blackouts where I lost my mind & left someone in a bloody pile on the ice. Both times I was retaliating to a spear. I'll take your best hit any day... Try to knock me over. But if you come at me with stickwork, you'll require postgame dental work and/or plastic surgery.

I don't find Seabrook's hit on Backes dirty. It may be a penalty, but it's not (frank)ing dirty. If that gets a suspension while a spear to the junk gets a pocket-change fine, ugh...

I agree and disagree. The Seabrook hit was pretty ugly and the principle point of contact was the head. That being said, the intent was no where as malicious as the Lucic spear. Both should be punished equally IMHO.

So Seabiscuit should expect a 5 000 dollar fine.

Nope, other way around. Whatever Seabrook gets is what Douchic should have gotten.

To shut down who? Jackman?

I think their interest in Kes was offensively motivated to play with Kane. Subtract Teru, who isn't playing anyway, and a leddy, shaw or saad and you have the start of a deal otherwise you don't trade him to the west. Yes, it's an overpayment by Chi but if you want a trade within the conf., that's the price you'll pay biaaaatches.

When will people learn. A rule of thumb is , If Boston did it ,it didn't really happen . You imagined it.

There is a poster hanging above the Dean of Disciplines desk. It has the NHL golden rules.

If it is Canucks throw the book at them
If it is a star player ,there was no intent
If it is Chicago a mid level fine or suspension is acceptable (unless it is against Canucks. If against the Canucks follow the Boston rule)
If it is against the bruins, it didn't happen.
