How the (frank) was he even out there during OT of a playoff game? Would have loved to see AV's and Torts' reaction to that. |

Dale Weise doe. - Nucker101
It was clearly Torts and AV that were holding him back all along. |

Yeah, nothing after Nuge(not a Gagner fan at all). - Nucker101
Or in the system, really. Wehave a few guys that can probably be 3rd or 4th liners like Lander,Arcobello and Horvat, and a kid in Russia, but that's it.
The biggest misconception is that we need another defensive prospect. Our prospect strengths are for sure on the wings (Pitlick, Moroz, Khairia, Chase) and on D (Klefbom, Marincin, Nurse, Gernat,Davidson, Musil, Simpson).
Even if he were available, I could see Edmonton pass on Ekblad to draft Bennet or Draisaitl. |

I'll smoke whatever he's having. Sounds like great stuff. |

Arcobello was great and I think it was a bit of a mistake to send him down. Of course he's the quintessential mighty-mouse, with his not quite Herculian physical stature. But from what I saw, he seems to work hard and has some creativity with respect to the offensive side of things. I also recently noted he signed an extension a few weeks ago, and I think it was a good move by the Oil. No, not exactly earth-shaking stuff, but a positive decision by management. Hopefully there will be more of those types of managerial moves going forward (although of course I wouldn't suggest holding your breath nonetheless ) |

Sadly the oil have a number of needs spread across multiple positions. Got to be tough to be an oilers fan. |

Except for the tough part...I'd imagine there's lots of tissue sales and wambulances down in Van right now |

GOod coaches reward their players for positive play. Good coaches also have the ability to see who is hot and who is not. |

@DarrenDreger: Postgame, Dale Weise talked about opportunity he's been given by Therrien. Said he doesn't think Torts believes in 4th liners in Van.
Shot fired.
Speaking of fired, what the (frank) is taking so long? |

Those empty seats at the Rogers arena tell the story. No one cares anymore. Very little talk at work or amongst friends about hockey . |

Maybe the new GM wants Torts.
I want him for another year to clean these NTCs
Torts could make Kesler love Columbus
Torts could make Edler want to buy his own airfare to EDm for the 3 rd overall
Torts could make Garrison and Higgins rip up those NTCs
Torts could make Danny invest in Propery in Brooklyn. |

Please, dear bearded young Jesus, let this be the day that John Torterella is relieved of his head coaching duties for the Vancouver Canucks. |

I read it on a survey somewhere that Thursday is the best day to fire people. Something to do with 3 day grievance period. That means Torts will be back on the market on Monday looking for a job and be hire by the end of next week. Hopefully TL read the same report. |

Fridays are the best days to fire people, especially if it's a Monday to Friday type work environment. Gives others in the office the weekend time to let it sink in and curbs office gossip and politics.
That being said, that best day to fire Torts is any day of the (frank)ING week! C'mon Linden, get on with it. |

It's generally the GM's job to hire/fire the coaching staff. We don't have a GM at the moment, so it'll have to wait. |

Actually the study was proven that Friday is he worst day to fire people. It ruins the weekend and the employee is nit fully recovered to start searching again on Monday. The first day is shock. Day 2-3 is anger, frustration and drinking binge and day 4 is recovery and game plan for future. Day 5 is put that plan in action. So if fired on Thursday then day 5 is Monday. Office gossip and politics was also covered in the study. First day is speculation. Second day is confirmation. Usually the fired person comes back for a last bruhahaha wit the co workers after the day of being fired. Anyways lets not get into the politics of office HR and lets see what happens with draft. |

Torts was right about one thing.. The locker room is stale. I think the players know that as well. |
