Here are 4 things I am watching this playoffs and hoping it happens.
First
I want Boston out in First round.
So that we can hurry up can get our GM.
Second
I want Colorado to be swept in the first round with Minny's offense running wild. Colorado will be desperate for D and we have a ton.
Third
I want San Jose to get swept by LA. Total annihilation. Todd Mac will get fired and we will have our coach.
Fourth
I want Columbus to get destroyed by Pens in the middle. Only win <30% Faceoffs with no shutdown center. Will make them desperate for Kesler.
If these things fall in place we will be back in the lime light in no time. |

My thoughts on our next coach:
Someone innovative. A teacher who understands how to get the most out of every player's skillset & allows them to play with instinctive freedom. It's not our job to find that guy - it's Linden & the new GM's. They should be looking at every level for the right guy.
I personally still like Gulutzan, Willie Desjardins, Ralph Kreuger, and what about Denis Savard in his 2nd NHL opportunity? The Blackhawks core that kicked our ass all those years credits him for how he mentored the young talent he had to work with. Maybe he's a bridge coach at the very least for our youth movement? I think all of those names deserve serious consideration. Enough with the old-school retreads. - DrChristianTroy
We already have a coach. |

On our roster with NTC. With the right incentive we can get either Hammer or Beiska to go to Colorado for ROR. |

Seeing Garrison had very good success with Soupy would Florida package a trade?
Garrison or Bieksa , 6 th overall, and Hansen or Higgins for the number 1? |

I can't see Vancouver taking Ehlers. All this talk of the "Boston model" makes me think they'll take Del Colle (if available) or Ritchie. - hankthetank
I'm worried about Ritchie turning into "Jim Sandlak 2.0"
Ehlers is not a step in and play prospect but we need a pure goal scorer. |

Have to see how Shinkaruk is going to do next year on the comets, he looks like he might get a goal or two. |

No we don't. We have a system-reliant dictator. 2nd consecutive for this franchise. |

We sign him to 6.5 for 5years. number 1 center.
Here is the trades I envision. (Hope- pray)
Hammer to Colorado for ROR
Kesler to CBJ for Umberger, Jenner and pick.
Reset, retool and rebuild done. |

... speaking of which, did any of the Vancouver mediots take Torts up on his offer to have a post-season round table discussion to explain whatever the (frank) he says he's been teaching & justify how it translated into slow/bland/boring/restrictive/bullsh!t hockey? I'd love to take him up on that. Problem is, none of the Vancouver mediots know enough about hockey to challenge him on anything he presents. |

Ehlers would be a bold move but one has to wonder how he'll play at the pro level.
Listening to Linden, the guess is Virtanen, Ritchie or Perlini.....but if Dal Colle slipped to Vancouver, I'd lose my load all over hugefemale doges face.... |

How about we trade with Edm for 3rd overall.
Tanev and 6th overall for Edm 3rd overall.
Considering Elbald will be long gone at 3 spot Edm does not need another forward they would be wiling to trade down for a D. We get either Bennet, MDC, or Reinhart. |

We need one of the top five teams to reach on one of their picks for MDC to slip our way; Ehlers, from everything I've read, has been described from a poor mans Patrick Kane to a north south version of Mason Raymond.
Personally I don't know enough about he kid to give an informed opinion, great speed and a quick quick release. Kinda reminds me of what I know of Shinkaruk to be honest. |

Too bad Phoenix isn't picking ahead of us. They tend to go off the charts with their picks.
Ehlers is a high risk/reward pick for sure, but I just don't want us picking a player because he's big. Take the best player available. |

Has anyone actually watched Ehlers all season? When #tanknation first began I was hoping for one of Virtanen or Perlini. If Draisaitl or Dal Colle slip to #6 that'd be unreal.

I started looking at all possibilities about a month ago. Ehlers has the skillset of a future superstar IMO. His ridiculously impressive hockey brain works at the same speed as his hands and his legs (incredibly rare to have all 3 in sync). He's got some heart and initiates more contact than I'd expected when I started looking into him. I'd be happier with Ehlers @ 6 than just about anyone outside of Bennett. |

That would be awesome if all of them develop as predicted!
Any word on the playoff pool? |

Explosive speed, great hands and can finish. Also plays the PK and isn't soft. I have yet to see a valid argument against taking him at 6 other than one of the consensus top 5 falling. There's a drop-off after that top 6, although Fleury is also the real deal IMO. |
