There always seems to be at least 1 sweep. I went out on a limb. I feel if Chicago can get the first game, things may snowball on the Blues. They've been trending downward. More like free falling downward. If the series started in Chicago, I wouldn't be calling for a sweep.

Well one thing for sure, if the Blues go out in 4 Hitch should be hitting the unemployment line next week.

That would defeat the purpose of trading him. Lots of teams around the league could do with a player like Grossmann, but we don't need him and Schenn in my opinion.
- Feanor

I think it would be great to be able to keep a solid veteran physical defenseman such as Grossmann for defensive depth. But the Flyers are still going to need a top defenseman to anchor the defense. And they're likely going to have to go with a cheaper option for that role moving forward.

He probably will. Its the circle of a coaches life.

Team can't score goals because the coach plays too conservatively. Team gets new coach to open things up.

Team plays too loosely. team gets coach to preach defense and tighten things up.

So Jake dyed his beard black.

Mason isn't practicing.

Practice is up tempo.

Luke Schenn about to play in his first ever playoff game.

Downie not practicing either.

That's why I think Lauridsen gets a legit shot at camp. He's younger, just as mobile, plays a similar (not exact) game. He's got a meaner streaker, but isn't as good in his positioning/shot blocking, but he's also much cheaper. He won't be able to replace Grossmann, but he could grow into that type of player.

I think Lauridsen, Hagg, Ghost, Morin and Alt will get a chance to make the team as the 6th guy.

The real news is that Ben Holmstrom is at practice. Ain't that like him, to leave the last-place minor league team that he captains to help out with the top level team.

i don't think Hagg will, but agree on the other 4. I just think Lauridsen has the inside track if one of Grossmann/L. Schenn leaves, as his game is most similar to them.

If McGinn, VDV and Akeson are all with the Flyers, I really wonder if the Phantoms will score any goals the rest of the season

I don't want jagr. I know he and g had chemistry but he is going to be 42 and you don't get better with age. It will catch up to him. And i know what he did this year. But look at the philles. Thought they could keep getting one more year and now look at the aged roster. Also i only said hemsky because he is a FA. Moulson will be too expensive. I would like to see and upgrade on the fourth line. Also wouldn't mind if they could somehow make a trade and move Hartell. Would anyone disagree with something like this?

To Winnipeg:
B.Schenn
L. Schenn
3nd Rounder 2014

To Philly:
E. Kane
4th Rounder 2014

And then move Hartnell to Toronto because they could use someone like that and he might waive his no-trade for them for maybe a prospect and pick.

This opens up space in the lineup to make vinny more comfortable at center and still gives you a solid lineup.

Kane - G- Voracek
Simmonds - Vinny - Raffle?
Laughton - Cooter - Read
Rinaldo - Sign Brian Boyle - ?

As much as I like him and would want him on the Flyers in a heartbeat, McDonagh's shoulder has to be tested over and over again, just to make sure it can withstand the rigors of playoff hockey.

Ya know how other teams like the Red Wings always seem to have offensive talent in the minors all the time. The Flyers always seem to have an excess of enforcers in the minors.

It's like they're preparing to be sent back in time to the 70s.

Any truth to the fact that each playoff team is allowed to use a 10 lb sledgehammer for one shift each series?
