If the Oilers would have lost to the Canucks on Saturday they'd have finished 2nd last and won the lottery again

Holy Fak if this happens I would $hit. If he went that far in draft oh my. Probably not gonna happen though.
- thundachunk

Maybe, maybe not. That's where ISS has him rated overall.
I'd be very okay with Ehlers as well.

6th over all. I like it.

ISS has pretty bad/mediocre rankings IMO. I'd be pretty surprised if either of the top 5 fell, but poop happens. Ehlers it is.

Wouldn't be upset at all with that pick but I would be ecstatic if Dal Colle fell to 6th.

I've had the advantage of seeing LD play. He is gonna be a good NHLer in the future. Money in the bank.

Even more unlikely than Draisaitl IMO. Draisaitl at least has a knock on him about not always giving 100%. Haven't seen anything about Dal Colle.

Interesting that Button has Virtanen ranked 41st on his draft list, but choose him for Vancouver's 6th pick.

Would Kesler consider it? Would go along way in their rebuild and ours.

Hate to beat a dead equine, but anyone interested in putting together a play-off pool? (whether box-format, list of players, or 'draft' draft').

Mocks are different from personal rankings. I agree with him, Virtanen is too risky as a top 10 pick IMO.

Thanks Thunda, I'd like to thank all the people who helped me to achieve this highly coveted, prestigious award, and the highlight of my existence thus far:

1) Baby Jesus
2) My latex companion "Sheneequa"
3) Copious amounts of liquor (mostly aqua-velva shooters and turnip liquere)
4) Fosco's strict diet of mini-chocolate Edlers and mainlining bosco (hmm Fosco/Bosco - coincidence or? )

Thanks to everyone who participated, and looking forward to next year as well.

He can build condos around the Abby complex and buy the land and building from the city. City recoups money over time in tax dollars. Problem solved.

The biggest downfall of this organization forever has been it's player development. If you look at most of the core today the reason why they were able to be good nhlers is because of the lockout years ago. Kesler, Burrows, Edler, Bieksa, etc., all played for Manitoba instead of the NHL. The same can be said for Getzlaf, Perry, all the other stars of the 2003 draft and most of the red wings.

Putting the farm team nearby where it can be supported and closely monitored should be an absolute no brainer. Who cares about travel. If they make it to the bigs, they're going to be travelling a lot with this team anyway. May as well get used to the sleep doctor now.

This makes a lot of sense. Also, their future head coach was the one coaching them on the Moose. That eliminated the "process" for many of the players AV had to use when he stepped in as HC.

Sounds good - although not quite sure if there is really much time left to set up a proper 'draft' draft (would be hard to figure out a time either tonight or tomorrow to get everyone together for a real 'draft' type of format) so perhaps we should go for either a box-draft or forwarding a list of 20-25 players. Anyone have any ideas? Nucker, I know you were also interested, thoughts?

P.S. we can use OfficePools which has some different format options
