Fire the lot.
Linden is in charge of all hockey decisions. The next GM answers to God-Emperor Linden.
Clean slate, baby! - Marwood
Honestly not 100% confident in this Linden-new Gm partnership approach. Sounds like Linden will be pretty involved with all player personnel decisions(something he has zero NHl experience with).

If Torts really believed what he said why wouldn't he play a young, enthusiastic player like Kassian with the old Sedins. Why wouldn't he play Dalpe over the useless Sestito. If he was that honest with Aquaman and Gillis when he was hired, Gillis would have never hired him if he did as Aqua claims. Basically he said what we all know but threw Gillis and the entire management team under the bus.
The more I hear him talk the more my like for his honesty is turning into a hate for his small man syndrome. - therealagent
I think there was more on the bench than he wanted to admit- maybe not a lot more, but there was more there. Torts just overplayed his best players in the Sedins, Kesler and Hammer at times, which doesn't really show much coaching or creativity.
Does Kesler only whine about playing the wing when he is not with the Sedins? Got the impression he didn't like playing wing on the second line to Santorelli, Schoreder or Dalpe...
Seeing the Sedins dump and chase on the pp really showed how poorly prepared the team was to win games. |

I think it's pretty clear that Kesler prefers playing center, I bet he probably straight up told Torts the same thing which is why we barely saw it as the season went along. But then again the Henrik/Santo injuries also played into that. |

He's all talk. If he could coach as well as he could spin the media we'd be cup favourites
Botch had an article this morning about it. He says we need youth. Then scratches Schroeder and Dalpe once we are eliminated from the playoffs???? He knows how to spin the media but he's all talk. |

Inmates running the asylum?
I do like Kesler's f/o %. Santo's injury turned out to be a huge loss as the season went on. I still have no idea what happened to the team's confidence or did they sense a loss of direction with Torts' shenanigans and absence?
Was that some sort of Stockholm syndrome players were showing yesterday as they tried to defend Torts?
Crazy year. |

Torts did say that he and Kesler had a very open relationship, Kesler also said "I believe it's the center that makes the line go" as well yesterday. So putting 1 and 1 together I'd be good money that Kesler told him he wants to play center after the Sedin-Kesler line thing played out for a few games. |

Thought Dalpe was playing great at times then you see him demoted to 4th line or scratched... Same thing with Schroeder.
All the while the rest of the team is struggling so he punishes the youth and rewards the core that have scoring droughts? |

When the season is as good as over and you want to see what Dalpe and Schroeder can do as 2C's, Torts keeps playing Kesler there and an ice cold Higgins on the wing... What did that accomplish? So poorly run, it is unbelievable.
Maybe Torts was a supporter of #tanknation ?

Nothing stopping him from talking to them now. - Michael_Stuart
Yeah you think they are going to talk to assistant coaches and assistant GM's days before the first round of the playoffs???
HELL NO
|
|
|

I think the Bruins are prime for an upset in the first round, just like the Canucks in 2012 - Chest Rockwell
Detroit won 3 of 4 this year against Boston, and they are getting healthy.

You would think Vancouver management would look at Detroit as a successful franchise on which to model the Canucks? |

If Kesler only wants to play centre then let him, he can centre the 3rd/checking line with Hansen and Burrows. |
|
|

Hansen and Higgins are both 3rd line guys. Our 3rd line looked like a 3rd line. Our 4th line wasn't really a line, no identity. Our first line produced like a 3rd line for the 2nd half of the season.
We need a pp quarterback / pmd... some new skill...

I believe it is called tough love coaching style. This when the vets are royalty and can do no wrong where is the youth is banished for taking 1 extra stride on the way to the bench for a line change. |

How long are the Canucks contractually bound to keep the Comets in Utica? Have them would be fantastic for the Canucks and the City of Abby. Especially, if we are going to "retool/rebuild"; could be some exciting prospects to watch develop out there - Chest Rockwell
I thought I read 4 more years. Another buyout? |
