If you give the Sabres this year’s pick, you are telling your fan base that next year will be another losing season. - Dan Petriw
They already told us that by saying there will be no coaching changes. |

I have to think the Isles will keep the pick. I would hope they add Reimer in a trade and not Ward. Reimer should not cost a ton in picks or prospects. |

" they could compete for a playoff spot next season."
I beg to differ. No mention of Snow endorsing Capuano for next season? I have no faith in a team that doesn't want to win actually winning something. |

Loud and clear. Another season watching some of the worst the NHL has to offer in coaching. Only the best for all of those high end prospects. Keep up the good work Garth. Hopefully Thompson keeps the PK and defense the same. He's done a wonderful job |

Eh...I don't think we'll be worse. In fact, in our typical Murphy's Law Islander world, the team will likely overacheive next year, get bounced in the 1st round and earn Cappy a 3 year extension.
If we do manage to find a goaltender, I do think this team wonders it's way back into the playoffs. I'm not trying to put a 'great news' spin on this, because I think in someways it just offers more excuses for Wang to 'stay the course'.
That said, with Tavares, Strome, Nelson, Lee, Okposo, Nielsen, Grabs etc all ready to go full force and a vastly improving defense the addition of a goaltender would have this team bounce back in a big way.
Unfortunately Cappy will be around like a governor on a gocart engine. |

I wouldn't trade this years pick. If Snow and company really believe this year was Snow's fault (which many do), then he should also feel that a few major additions would get this team back in competing shape. Watching Strome, de Haan, Nelson and Lee develop and the addition of Mayfield and Czuczman makes me think there's simply too much talent developing to allow this team to be a lottery team next year.
Keep the pick. |

He'll be axed along with the other collection of morons behind the bench followed by Snow. I'll be there watching them leave their offices waving and eating popcorn. |

Once again cappy is back because of snow's failures last season. It's an admission of guilt by Garth. I don't think cappy is the long term answer by any means nor should he be back but with some tweaks, this team can be much better next year and will not be a bottom five team. |

Still a decent chance you guys can win the lottery...you really never know. What do you guys think will happen with the pick this year if you don't win?
Even with some new players and some of the youth owing up i really think the coaching will drag you guys down next year to a bottom 5 team...sabres will be down lower I'm sure as well |

I have heard it said that Cappy will be on a Laviolette-like leash going into the next season. The problem is that means Doug Weight is your next coach. No change.... |

It is basically choose your poison with this team. If we succeed Jack is a hero and stays as coach for God only knows if we loose then we miss the playoffs and we are laughed at. |

snow has been failing for years. So why not the short leash on Jack and not like the ones before him?? |

Sorry the Islanders are not doing much to improve next year. They had chances before. Nabby will be a your goalie next year they will bring up some kids on defense. Might sign a washed up vet or two but that is all |

Yep. I'd almost rather we did screw up early just to get this 'regime' out, but I think JT is going to come out like a man possessed and we now have a legit star in the making with Strome. Then de Haan and Hamonic will become a legit top pairing...etc etc. We have more talent here than we've seen in over 25 years. I'm very afraid they're going to do just well enough to buy Cappy time and galvanize Snow's 'I know better than you' attitude. |

There was a little known clause in the trade. If Sabres fans ask us that more than 1,000,000 times we get to keep the pick. Congratulations you are 1,000,001! No pick for you! |

We won't know that until after free agency. If the holes aren't addressed they will be bottom five. |

Hahaha touche! i know you guys are getting asked a lot. I really am interested to see the team you guys ice next year. Yes the potential 2015 pick the sabers get but also I am a huge JT fan. Hopefully you guys find a nice complementary piece for him.
With Garth, Wang and JC in charge though it is not looking great |
