Honestly, they all have Stanley Cup rings. If the Rangers won the Cup, I would care less if the entire roster did jello shots off of midget strippers while high on X. - Pete V
Like the 1986 Mets. If you didnt read The Bad Guys Won, you have to read it. |

Mason worked 15 min. prax. Berube says he is getting better but sounds less confident than 2 days ago that will definitely play |

So he'll be back, I was wondering if he wasn't in would Downie be a shoe in to dress for the sh!t stirrer factor. - B2B76
Downie is not likely to play. We suspect, although there is no confirmation, that he still is suffering concussion-like symptoms. |

IMO, I would rather Mason play than Emery. Emery is a vet and will probably have a little more composure than Mason. Idk, I really can see Mason choking in the early games under pressure with so little playoff experience and the first 2 at MSG. Lotta pressure for basically a playoff newbie goalie. |

Very nice to see, I've ventured over there in the past to play nice & 95% of them were cool, just talking hockey. During games its way too volatile though, that's when the bad blood on here will spill over, post game after a tough loss too. - B2B76
So discretion is the better part of valor. You know there are trolls on both sides who can't help themselves. And they'll not be enjoying posting later in the playoffs if they can't. |

Great, quick/easy read. I think Gary Carter & Mookie Wilson were the only 2 on that team that came out looking squeaky clean. |

Yup, Gary Carter & Mookie where like the dads trying to keep things from getting out of control. Little help that did. |

The "scum bunch", Orosco, Danny Heep & Doug Sisk, like 3 15 yr old losers, picking boogers, slamming beers, vomiting on planes, etc. Fun times it sounded like back then. |

Keith Hernandez getting hammered in the clubhouse during a game, chugging beer and smoking. I guarantee they would all do it the same way again. |

Simply outstanding breakdown, Jan! I am really looking forward to this series. A lot is said about Flyers/Pens but Flyers/Rangers is pretty much just as intense. It only lacks the recent playoff encounters of Flyers/Pens. |

I'm almost 40 & in the early/mid 80s the Rangers/Flyers met almost every yr, usually in the 1st round. Then the 95 & 97 series which Philly pretty much dominated.
It's been an intense series between us the last 3 or 4 years going back to the final game of 2009-10 season when you guys used that win to make the playoffs & get all the way to the Finals. Calling a really INTENSE, close to the vest series, def going the distance. |

Good group of Flyer fans in here today. I love Flyers-Rangers, and it has been way too long since they've met in the playoffs. It's going to be a great long series, IMO. - Pete V
I attended the last Flyers/Rangers playoff game in MSG (game 4 1997 semi-finals). It's been forever! In fact, since the Flyers joined the NHL, this is the longest stretch without a playoff meeting. |

According to @TSNBobMcKenzie, Isles GM Garth Snow will not be at draft lottery, so his thoughts on keeping pick/give to Sabres will wait.
Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie 5m
If NJD, who are locked into 30th overall pick, were to win the lottery, there would be a re-draw so a team that is eligible would win it. |

I don't think they'll have much of a problem getting past the Flyers, but the rest of the way, who knows? |

Idk, I wish I shared the chest thumping optimism some of you guys do about this being a short series. Its the playoffs & this is a rivalry. Throw everything else out the window, the Flyers are a very good hockey team. This will not be easy, hell no. |

If you are talking about the Flyers from the first 15 games of this season where no one could score then we wouldn't even be talking about them in the playoffs.
If you are talking about the team that was on pace for 104 points over the last 67 games , the team where Giroux lead the league in scoring over that period then that is a different story.
The key comes down to if the Rangers better/deeper defense and goaltending can stop the Flyers better/deeper offense.
I'm realistic and know that Lunquist was one of the 2 best goalies in the league this year so that will probably give them the edge but to say it will be easy or less than 6 or 7 games I just cant agree with.
