I like his personality as well, but his systems sucked. The clowns on 1040 this morning are salivating over Trotz being available.

It's official - the Team 1040 don't watch hockey.

Glad to hear Daniel is out of hospital. The Sedins (while annoying to play against) are great players, and people.

What a weird hit that was.

Manually; would just have to forward any agreed upon deal to Fosco.

Hell No. He is basically Torts without a personality.

The funny thing about the media is they are lazy about putting similar stories together and then they just run with it. Waiting for media to ask if Phil Jackson would be better off coaching the Canucks than the Knicks.

Why would we want Trotz? Does he coach the "Boston model"?

Looking at the Canucks today and the goal of the Boston Model, would it be easier just to trade teams/organizations?

Following other team's models is just stupid. Draft and develop your own talent and just build a good team, let the "model" develop itself. The most important thing is bringing in as much talent/ability as you can and developing it the right way in today's NHL. Free agency and trades should be used to push you over the top when needed and set to contend.

I just hope Kesler's NTC list isn't too big so a bidding war can be created. And Edler's value hasn't taken too big of a hit(he does have the worst +/- in the league, and is somehow by far the worst on his own team).

One last thought, was that the same goaltender that played last night? Way less movement tonight, he looked decent, but it was the Flames I guess.

Why couldn't we play like that all year, or at least get the results...?

The only way this would happen is if we dropped to the ahl.

The Sedins playing a bit better, and the pp looking improved of late when it didn't matter... Does next year look as gloomy? Then Daniel gets hurt and you have to wonder if he is going to get a bit contact shy with his recent injury history.

Talk of that Boston model is just BS. Gillis comes in and talks about speed, skill and puck possession. We have our run and lose the 7th game so it was close... Now is the talk about the Boston Model.

I like the Detroit or Chicago model. Either way you need the players to play any given model whether it is done through drafting/development or trades and free agency.

I think it is a joke. You look at what you have and see where you want to go and develop into... The Canucks have to be a lot closer to the Detroit or Chicago models than Boston, and all those models can and have been successful...

So lets use the Boston model that is the furthest from reality when looking at our team and head in that direction?

Sheesh, it is going to be a long rebuild.

Edler's a POS. Signs on the dotted line then gives up on improving his craft (there's nothing I hate more in sports than players who hit a guaranteed jackpot & mentally retire). The guy needs to spend the ENTIRE offseason working on quick twitch agility, skating & general conditioning. His trade value isn't a fraction of what it would've been a year ago... I would keep him & demand that he show up at camp in the best shape of his career.

Ahhh great... Players all saying that they can still play with the best, just didn't get any breaks this year. The ol' "We're not far off" comment is back.

I agree.

If Edler's perceived value is down, don't trade him, he'll bounce back. No rush or trade another dman.... We want the Boston model so we trade our biggest dman away? Wish Bieksa had Edlers size.

My only fear is that he has another mediocre/bad season and his value falls even further. His skating hasn't been the same since his back injury/surgery. And he also only seems to play well when the guy on his right side is a true PMD.

"The Core" (Sedins, Kesler, Bieksa) on the podium. All defending Torts, all saying they don't need to make any big changes.... Ohhhhh boy...

Kes sure sounds like he wants new line mates...

"I believe the centre makes the line go. What do I need in a line mate? That's not my job, that's the jobs of the coach and the GM."

Hopefully for his sake, Anaheim has a good playmaking winger for him.

Stanton, Markstrom and 2014 2nd

Myers and Chris Stewart.

Our own Chara and Lucic. We have a Marchant in Burrows. Lack looks like Rask coming out of the shadows from under TT (Lou)

All we need is a coach. I hear Carlye and Maurice as becoming available soon.

Reset complete to Boston model. Now lets win some cups...Shall we?

But to be fair WTF else is a player going to say? Could you imagine a player saying: "I need to be kicked out of my job and replaced by someone else who can do it better."

This is also one of the reasons I don't perceive advanced stats to be the DNA of all hockey knowledge. If the stats line up with a narrative, it's all clearly in the numbers. If they don't, the player was just really "unlucky", bad breaks, etc.
