CBC is a disgraceful broadcaster. Not only do they employ the worst panel of experts (Friedman aside) their in-game coverage has rapidly deteriorated. Not to mention their Worst play by play and colour guys (save Jim Hughson). What a disgrace they have become. Have to watch this game on mute.

worst part is 650 people lost their jobs and 103 mil cut in the CBC budgets because they screwed up so much and lost hockey night in canada.

Good, my tax dollars can go to something other than them broadcasting Leaf games. That said, never like to see that many people out of work.

It's time for the CBC to go by the wayside and be a studio rather than a network. Sell the programs that make money like Dragon's Den, Little Mosque On The Prarie etc. to the rest of the networks and then maybe we can stop spending tax dollars on something that most people watch solely for the hockey games.

not really that easy with CAVCO, and its not just the case of removing CAVCO as that hits the canadian television industry really hard

Worst part is the inefficiencies that grew into their business because they got used to be on top for so long. They had competitive advantages that they pissed away. Its unfortunate for the people losing their jobs that they are a terribly run business.

Anything the government has their hand in turns to crap (monopoly or otherwise) ICBC... translink... Canada Post... CBC... and the list goes on. If any of these companies were private businesses.. they would have been out of business years ago

I was pretty drunk on Thursday, but both of him looked like they could use some time in the minors and/or some additional coaching.

No competition. In a competitive environment they'd either adapt or go out of business.

Exactly.. and even when there is competition.. like CBC.. they let the taxpayers take the hit. They are FINALLY starting to make changes... but does anyone watch CBC other than for HNIC? Little Mosque on the prairie anyone?
