I'm note saying overpayment, but he needs to mature and who feeds him the puck? We need to draft a high skilled guy at 6 - like a nylander or someone of that ilk.....

I'd trade Jensen, Hansen, and another piece or two, just not that 6th overall....

- chompsey
they don't even consider it without the 6th.
I don't think MORE average assets do it. take away an asset or two even, but that 6th needs to be there

would you rather 6 five dollar bills or 2 twenties?

Maybe Schroeder finally gets a chance to display his skillset in a role that suits him... Linden witnessed how Ronning produced once he was given an opportunity... Schroeder feeding Kane could work. I can see their games meshing well...

His reputation has hurt his trade value. He has 19 goals 21 assists and gets benched a few times. He has the reputation of being a cancer.
- VANTEL

Tyler Seguin had the lack of maturity moniker attached to him as well. He still commanded a decent return.

wow, relax pumpkin. your thoughts were stupid, but no need to get so angry.

and who said anything about sutter and poopty picks? I certainly didn't

maybe if you throw in 4 or 5 more average prospects you'll force cheveldayoffs hand out of sheer volume

Dude, calm your sh!t. He didn't come in "spewing" anything until you straight up called him a female genitalia.

So I guess Mark Recchi was right.........
- classic321

Yes he was.

There were players like Bieksa acting like every single one of those series was over before they had eliminated the opponent. It was disgusting.

Never said he was, just saying that a rep for being difficult doesn't automatically diminish a guy's trade value when that player is young, somewhat proven, and full of promise.

ssshhh too much logic here. he doesn't wanna hear this.

apparently my opinion that Winnipeg isn't interested in dealing one of the young stars of the game for anything less than serious value in return, as opposed to 7 mediocre pieces, is apparently 'spewing nonsense"

the sutter and picks comment was a beaut. i assume its some sort of projecting from another convo. still laughable though

Say Florida picks in the 2 spot. They chose Ekblad, do the Oil consider?
- jolaney

They will move the pick for the right offer. If not they take Bennet/Draisaitl.

I say overpayment as well. 6th overall should be more than enough for that potential locker room cancer.

That's why I not sure I'd be willing to give up this high pick for Kane as he sounds like one selfish dude. Don't think that's Linden's style. Want to wait for Benning and then start rummaging the Bruins prospects.

Sounds like it wasn't just Gillis that was the smug jerk. The Aquillinis are still here...

It seems for some time the team has sought team first, good guy/low maintenance sort of players. Good kids/guys. But they need one or two "screw loose" guys like Torres or even Kesler to a certain extent, to balance out the mix. (Don't want to say Cooke.)

I am not sure about Kane. Maybe he will mellow out a bit. Want the kid to be comfortable to be himself but still be a good teammate. Would he be better off in an American market where there is less scrutiny? Do we need O'Brian to ride shotgun with him?

Want to see what the pick is and what players may be available.

The Vancouver Canucks will play their youngsters and look to end the season on a positive note as they travel to Edmonton to face the Oilers on Saturday night.

- Carol Schram

Just to mention the draft was structured the same way last year. This is not the first year it has been restructured.

I don't see Schroeder staying unless the plan is to be tanking next year. You have Hank Gaunce Mathias Horvat Richardson Lain and Kesler will probably be traded. I just don't see where he fits in being the tweener he is.

And then you kiss Santorelli goodbye also.

If the kid puts in 30 on the ice and plays tough ,then I care less about his off ice activities.

I'm skeptical of his 'off-ice' and 'attitude issues'. The Wpg reporters need a story. The Jets are the story so they try and make something out of nothing all the time. Clearly he has had discipline issues but what young kid hasn't?
It's like Seguin all over again. He's been typecast as a young miscreant and now he can't get rid of the perception.

I fully accept that there is an issue; I just think the issue has been overblown by the media.

Kassian has had off ice issues too, but he is rounding out nicely.

There is not a lot to do in the Peg , so trouble seems like one of locals favourite activities.

If we finish with the 8th overall and don't win the lotto(fingers crossed) would the 5th and Jensen be enough to move up to 3rd overall? Would we have to add...garrison or Tanev & a 3rd rd kinda thing?

He just wanted to show the kids that it's possible to have fun as a healthy scratch. That's real leadership.
