I have to say what the nucks did for 94 last night added so much emotion in the rink last night. Class. Good for them. - doon
Smytty is a class act and super hard worker. He showed his love for the game and never once hid his love for Edmonton. Any team would be so lucky to have a player like him. |

Typical Canucks... Scrambling to copy what works "now" (which will be obsolete by the time they build a poor man's version) rather than imagining what the next step will be & trailblazing that vision... Embarrassing. - DrChristianTroy

We know Kesler will be gone , but if that is where we stop ,boy are we in for a losing year next year and years after.
Sedins Invisble in 2014 , and don't give me that poop about a new coach.
Kesler checked out at Socchi never returned.
Burrows invisible 2013/14
Higgins invisible 2014
Hansen does he still play here?
Edler has been on the back of a milk carton since 2011 SCF
Garrison
Hamhuis MIA the entire season
Our best players in 2013/14 year have been Kassian Booth and Mathias.
Never had a fourth line since GMMG
This team needs an overhaul ,and people thinking that a coach replacement and tweeks will solve this mess are in for a huge surprise. - VANTEL
Really like the line of Mathhias Richardson Kassian, they played well. I like where Kassian's game is headed!! Jensen is a major defensive liability, he needs more time in the minors to work on that, I do like his cycle game down low with the twins though. He just coughs up the puck too much. Should be an interesting summer as far as changes go.
Markstrom looked terrible last night - wow!!! |

This is the summer of change or we are hooped.
I know we have battled all year about the Sedins but to me they look old and slow. This is the one chance to trade them where they will get value back. I think after next year their value plummets. When teams will look at Daniel and see he is being paid 7 mil to score 15 goals, they will laugh at us. Now is the time to move them if there is a deal to NYI.
Garrison needs to be bought out.if you can find a sucker to trade then do it but I doubt there is.
Edler absolutely needs to be traded and don't expect much in return
Higgins Burrows Hansen and Kesler ,at least half need to go.

You do have the parts to make a splash. They have to go hard after a top Dman this year . If you traded for Seth Jones and were able to draft Ekblad then Oilers D in two years would be looking a whole hell of a lot better. |

I don't think Ekblad is in the cards. If not they have to trade it. |

If I were the Oilers, I'd offer Eberle, Yakupov, Nurse and your 1st to Nashville for Shea Weber. It's probably not quite enough, but it would get Nashville moving in your direction.

Did you watch the game last night? The twins had good possession numbers, they created offensive chances, unlike the other lines, except Mathhias Richardson Kassian. Love ya man but I think your opinions of the twins is out to lunch, with out them we are Buffalo (for many years), end of story. There's no one to step in a fill those shoes.
Hank had a great year last year, the guy is still a world class player; this year a number of things came into play and he had a down year, like most every other player. Daniel's number are concerning, but still, he had a good start to this year and then it all went south for him, again, like everyone else. Plus he had 40 points in 47 games last year, 12 goals & 28 assists and a +12. Those are NOT terrible numbers, although his goal totals are down, but that's still a pro-rated 20+ goal season.
Higgins, Hansen, Burrows and Kesler all have trade value, I'd rather see a younger player fill those spots. I really like that Mathhias Richardson Kassian line as a third line next year.
Edler - WTF - I don't know what to say...holy (frank) he was just lost last night. |

Then why trade him, its not like we have some bluechippers in the system to replace him. |

We won't know who is right or wrong on the Sedins until next year
They had good puck possession but did it lead too into points ? That is what they are paid to do IMO score goals.
If you are right then the next four years should be a building process.
If I am right it will cripple the franchise for another four years. |

You undervalue the guy. He's been disappointing but imagine replacing his minutes with Alberts. |

Overpayment . Go after Jones instead. |

Why would you do that? Why does it need to go from one extreme to another? There has to be something in between |

Overpayment???
Thats one of the stupidest trade scenario's I've ever seen....lets give up 4 years of drafting for one guy.
I doubt Jones is available.
We dont need a Star. Just a solid shutdown guy. To me guys like Hainsey, Mitchell would do wonders paired with Jultz. And wouldnt cost half our roster. |

The point being made that there is nothing in between that makes trading him for a piddling return attractive. |

I agree That Weber deal was horrible.
If any team can lure Jones Oilers have the parts to do it. It depends on how much you want him. |

I think a D core should have a puck mover , a tough guy, a guy with a good hard accurate shot , a stay at home guy and three reliable Dmen with size.
Puck mover : none
Tough guy : maybe Bieksa
Reliable guy , Hamhuis Tanev
I don't suggest trading Edler for a 7 th rounder ,but also anyone expecting Nyquist Tatar and a first may be dreaming.
I think his return will be a player like Suter from Pits or along that line of player. |
|

Should Canucks offer Hansen + to WPG for Burmistrov? Then try to coax him to come play in the NHL?
I can see why a player would chose Russia over Winnipeg ,but Vancouver lifestyle might be more appealing. |
