I don't really get the sense that linden disagrees with torts coaching style. Almost sounds like they think that they know that they need more role players on their team and need to be less one dimensional of a team. - numbear
Maybe so, but do the (frank)ing reset right this time. Not the half assed attempted they made last season. |

I get what you say and agree with much of it; however, am a little surprised that you would throw out Hansen as one of the guys you'd like to get rid of. The guy is one of the best utility players out there. He's a fantastic third line player, plays PK, and PP when/if needed, he has blazing wheels, pretty good hands, brings it night in and night out, consistently dishes out hits and his offensive skills continue to improve. So, what is the deal? I would have absolutely zero problem with Hansen coming back next year. - Zogg
Hansen is put in those situations, but he doesn't have the same finish a guy like Higgins does. so if it is between those two, I'll take Higgins. Booth is faster, bigger, stronger and can actually score once in awhile when healthy - the guy has just had bad injury luck...
Hansen will bring something back to the team. Hopefully a solid prospect and a pick at the deadline. Like I said i'd make the move at the deadline not during the season. If someone gets injured you dont move him at all.. he could be a solid piece in a package deal as well. |

Anybody know why toronto finished ahead of winnipeg?
I was under the impression wins would put them ahead of winnipeg therefore worst draft position.

I thought we'd end up drafting 9th or 10th. The boys went all out on #tanknation and have guaranteed a 6th or 7th finish.
If carolina wins tomorrow we finish 6th no matter the result. So let's all hope for Carolina to win early tomorrow so we can all be united in cheering for a win tomorrow |

Canucks you suck - VANTEL
Was in a pub in downtown tonight. They had the Whitecaps game on instead of the Canucks. Yeah that's where we are as a franchise.
Linden regurgitating the Aquillinis' hard-on for "the Bruins Model" doesn't give me the warm and fuzzies either. |

I look forward to four years down the road, where the new kids are in and this core is put to pastures. |

Typical Canucks... Scrambling to copy what works "now" (which will be obsolete by the time they build a poor man's version) rather than imagining what the next step will be & trailblazing that vision... Embarrassing. |

I think that statement was more general, in that the Canucks would like to emulate the consistent success achieved as has been the case with the Bruins franchise. I'm fairly certain Linden is not going to follow any sort of predetermined 'model' (at least give the guy the benefit of the doubt). rather use any and all information that is at his disposal to construct his/the Canucks own strategy and how the team will be moulded.
Edit: I just don't see Linden as someone who would be afraid to step outside the box |

Interesting... Because I've always seen him as a real "by the book" straight laced kind of guy. Not the type to step (or even think) outside the box... Oh well, we'll see... Looking forward to this 6th or 7th overall pick because there will be a wide variety of skillsets available and who they choose will say a lot about their vision. |

Agreed. And yeah, I'm really curious to see who they select at 6 or 7 and also hat the return for Kesler will be, both of those will have a lot to say about what Linden and the new GM want this team to look like.
I know everyone will be pissed if they pick 6th and somehow one of the "big 5" fall and they pass on him. Ehlers is making a strong case for it to be a "big 6" IMO. |

We know Kesler will be gone , but if that is where we stop ,boy are we in for a losing year next year and years after.
Sedins Invisble in 2014 , and don't give me that poop about a new coach.
Kesler checked out at Socchi never returned.
Burrows invisible 2013/14
Higgins invisible 2014
Hansen does he still play here?
Edler has been on the back of a milk carton since 2011 SCF
Garrison
Hamhuis MIA the entire season
Our best players in 2013/14 year have been Kassian Booth and Mathias.
Never had a fourth line since GMMG
This team needs an overhaul ,and people thinking that a coach replacement and tweeks will solve this mess are in for a huge surprise. |
