I doubt their hire a coach before GM, and a GM won't be hired till around June according to Linden. GM I'm assuming will have his choice. |

I would love it if they fired Torts before hiring a GM.
Basically telling the GM "you can hire any coach you want, just not that guy" |

Well hopefully TL is smart enough to hire a GM with experience, considering he has zippo! |

That might be what he said but he also said he had platform of the type of Gm he wants. I took that as we will see shortly. He has someone in mind. Obviously this wasn't a spur of the moment hire by FA and company. |

I bet it would've been if Burke was still unemployed. |

If Linden wants him, Calgary will give him up and they will like it. It's Trevor Linden damn it!! |

Have you seen Ek's latest post, Shanahan as a possible hire...
 - 1970vintage
Well that would be one way to deal with the punishments he has dealt out to Canucks. |

Dear Bloated,
This is my first official opportunity to write to you. I want to say how delighted I am to be back with the Canucks and how excited I am about the future.
As an important member of our Canucks family, I know you have a deep personal interest in everything that is going on and our plans for the coming season. As one of my first connections with you, I’d like to invite you to a special Q&A session on Canucks.com this Friday, April 11 at 12 noon. This video webcast will give me an opportunity to answer your questions about the team, and discuss our vision moving forward.
We've received feedback that some of you would like more information and time as you make a decision on renewing your Canucks ticket membership. So we're extending the renewal period until after our Q&A. Your new renewal date will be Thursday, April 17, 2014.
It is my goal to ice a Canucks team you can be proud of, but actions speak louder than words. Your 2014.15 ticket membership deposit will be fully refundable until July 11, which is after the NHL Entry Draft and the start of free agency so that you can be confident in what we are doing to build a winning team.
I can’t wait to get started and I am eager to hear from you about all your questions and concerns. You can submit your questions directly to me using the button below.
Thank you again for your passionate support. I look forward to our conversation on Friday.
Sincerely,
Trevor Linden

Thanks for sharing. I think there is at least a little bit of relief that this wasn't more along the lines of a PR stunt based on what he's indicated about ticket renewals. |

Sounds like they are out to make some bold moves to impress season ticket holders...
This could get interesting. Just wondering who will be coaching and if there are any trades to be made or if it is about targeting complimentary free agents and not necessarily the big names.
It has to be a bit tricky signing players when you don't know if any prospects will be making the big club. It sounded like Torts had Corrado penciled in for the Canucks next season, but he won't be back to coach so....
Lots up in the air until the new GM and Coach are determined. |

If the Canucks hire Feaster, I will treat the team with the same contempt as when they hired that maroon Keenan and his scum bag bum buddy Messier. Why the team would have hired that clown Messier after what he did to Thomas Gradin, I'll never understand. |

All I can say is, all this Linden excitement will be tempered significantly if Torts is still here next year and, as you noted, the jury will be out until we see who the managerial group/coach/coaching staff will be composed of. I guess it's baby steps for now |
