I would go for 4y at 5mill. Caps going up and in 4 years we wont know for sure if vasi is the real deal (although i have no doubts). Its not like theres no Market for goalies out there, in 4 years we Will get a good return for him. This is just if he keeps it up til christmas

It's not Vasilevskiy I'm worried about. I'd be hesitant to lock Bishop into a 4+ year deal without knowing what they've got in him. This is one season. He started out ridiculously hot, got injured, and cooled off a lot down the stretch.

yzerman will wait till december and if bishop plays the same he gets resigned by then. Stevie is going to want to see if bishop can perform well next season again!

If he does not sign an extension this summer, and he gets healthy and gets off to a great start next year, he may want to wait to UFA and try and get Rask(7m) or Lundqvist(8.5m) money. Or at least in that area. I would be inclined to wait and see if he could put back to back good seasons in, but that's the risk you take.

Did anyone read that idiot Tom Jones' column? Why does he even write anything about hockey? The first red flag on Jones is his picture- he should never be seen because your first impression is - Is he as dumb as he looks? Answer yes.

WHO th hell is tom jones? its not unusual to be loved by anyone

oh, I found him :D TBT writer

I didn't even read the article fully based on the title of it. What kind of negative energy sucking article is that going to be when he talks about playoff chances being on life support? (frank) him

I just read it cause I needed to see what you were talking about. Listen to this.

"He was the reason the Lightning made its final push into the playoffs without St. Louis."

Ben bishops GAA since the trade deadline : 3.27 GAA
Ben bishops SV% since the trade deadline : .885%

Lindbacks GAA : 3.11
Lindbacks SV% : .884

I'm not making a case against bishop, im just saying if bishop lead us to the playoffs with those numbers according to this guy after marty got traded, then he can't say lindback basically puts our playoff hopes on life support. what an idiot

No way in hell he gets that type of money. Maybe if he has another 3 or 4 seasons like this year. More in the 3.5-4 range for 4-5 years.

I'm not sure, I don't know much about good ranges of cash for contracts, only know stammer will get a max and I also know bishop wont be getting franchise goaltending money I think

All it take is one team in need of a G. I think the Lundqvist deal and the cap going up will really affect what teams pay G's in the future. IMO

You may be right. I am not familiar with proper contract amounts or anything such as that.

The Bolts have won both meetings with the Flyers this season, and each time behind netminder Anders Lindback, who will be back in net tonight...

Bolts definitely have the Flyers number as of late. I dont think it matters who is in net..... they always seem to stone us.

IDK what it is. Just seems to me everytime we play you guys. Lightning raise their game because they hate us and Philly treats it like "just another game" and plays with cement in their skates. lol

D Radko Gudas said he still doesn't know what he did to deserve a match penalty Saturday against the Stars for an illegal check to the head.

If anything, he said, Dallas' Antoine Roussel skated, head down, into him from behind.

"I saw him coming," said Gudas, who received no supplemental discipline from the league. "He's going to be running at me and he's going to be hitting me if I touch the puck first, so I'm going to make myself strong and I wanted to turn fast. I don't know what he was doing there."

I like things like this as its interesting to hear his perspective and what he says looks like what he did in the game.

This series has gone in long stretches with one dominating the other for the last 15 years. Don't know what it is about them but luckily we're on the winning streak now as long as Tom Sesito isn't playing.

Well they have alot more on the line here a seeding anywhere division 2 seed to last wild card seeding so it should be interesting.

I don't know if its just the way it worked out this year or what, but to make the playoffs its still the top 8 teams from each conference, no matter the division, just click "conference" and all first 8 clinched playoff positions and have more pts than whoever is below them. It just a BS set-up for first round elimination, the only change is that Teams seeded 3rd through 6th switch who they would play, and its eliminating one of the top teams who finished higher than 5th or 6th in the first round instead of them having advantage over 5th or 6th seeded teams which they deserved to get in the first place

it makes it so that instead of 3rd playing 6th and 4th vs 5th, its 3rd vs 4th, and 5th vs 6th, that's the only difference, and its lame, why finish high seed and get the disadvantage? lower seeds play 5th seed yet you have to play the 3rd seed? even though your 3rd you play 4th, not 5th...(frank)..

we fight hard all season to get a high seed just to get a disadvantage come playoff time by playing the higher seed than you would if u finished 4th or 5th, I hate it
