I really want to see a semi healthy Bishop in the playoffs and see how he handles the pressure. The Lightning have a huge decision to make either this summer or into next year. Bishop has one more year on his contract. Do you give him the 5 years at $5.5 to 6M per year? That seems to be a fair market value if you look at guys like Mike Smith getting 5.6 per and Jimmy Howard at 5.2. Bishop seems to be injury prone and there are some good G's coming up. But he is the reason the Lightning are in the playoffs this year. I am looking to the future for this team because I think they are too young and not physically strong enough to win the Cup this year.

Cooper on Bishop: "I guess I'm saying that it's not impossible that he would be playing in the first round at some point."

@ChrisFischer07: Cooper: Bishop will not play the rest of the regular season, potentially could be back for playoffs #TBLightning

Doesn't sound like he will be back to me, to much speculation in all the answers I have seen today. Just more drama to follow as we lead into the playoffs, this team has given us plenty of drama.

I know we have all been hard on lindy this season (especially me), but for better or worse he's the last line of denfense for us. So rather then run him down, let's cheer him and the Lightning on. He's shown in the last couple of games why we brought him in and if continues that way we will have a chance to take the Canadiens out. Goodluck Lindback and Go Bolts Go!!!!!!!

I watch some of the game and highlights and Sustr looks really good overall on our defense. Could be potential pairing with Hedman?

If I'm reading the script right, Lindback absolutely stinks up the place in game 1 vs. the Habs... then we turn to Gudlevskis and lord knows what happens.

This season has been exciting, if nothing else.

That script sucks

We don't know what will happen, let's just hope that Lindback plays the way he has in the last couple of games.

Just saw this headline, not that it was from a reputable publication: "Stamkos loses star status with St. Louis departure." What a joke.

I would bet they won't extend bishop this summer! Yzerman will wait until December or January to see if bishop is still playing well! If he is playing like he did this year then yzerman will give bishop a new contract.

I think you try to get him to sign the Cory Schneider contract. Three years, $12MM. He's had one season as a starting goaltender. The guys you mentioned have a bit more of a proven track record.

I think you could make an argument that Schneider outperformed Bishop on a more consistent basis though. Anything north of $5MM and 3 years for Bishop would be a mistake, IMO.

3 years 4M a year is ideal for a player like Bishop who is still not proven but getting there.

I'd take 3 years @ 4 per in a heartbeat. Short enough for Bish to show his true colors (be it the same good, or a regression) but long enough to figure out how good Vas is at the NHL level.

I think 4.5 at a 3 year term is what it's going to be! but I think stevie could do another 2 year deal at 5 million per year!

I would go for 4y at 5mill. Caps going up and in 4 years we wont know for sure if vasi is the real deal (although i have no doubts). Its not like theres no Market for goalies out there, in 4 years we Will get a good return for him. This is just if he keeps it up til christmas
