I'd rather have a rested Lindback than an injured, exhausted, and off-game Bishop any day of the week. I think Lindy has been judged pretty harshly this season. He faced a lot of extremely tough competition early, not to mention having a goalie coach with a different style affecting his game. This is the first effort where we've earned a win with Mr Lindback between the pipes. This is potentially, the best thing that could happen for Lindback's career. lets hope the guys give him the goal and defensive support he needs.

this is lindbacks chance to shine he is the guy going into the playoffs! he is a rfa after the season a chance to show yzerman and cooper what he can do. he has 3 games to get ready for the playoffs well see what he is made of!

if there's a time for players in his situation to elevate their games to the next level, its now.

if he ever wants to be a number one goalie in the nhl it's time for lindback to prove it now! he has 3 games to get ready for the playoffs!

He looked more comfortable and confident in net tonight than he has in a long time. I'm cautiously optimistic. if the guys can play a system like tonight, it'll go a long way in helping him through

What the hell was Bishop thinking in the first place? That was a very stupid play for him to try and make.

That puck was going high and wide should've never gone for it in the first place!

just based on my experience having broken my collar bone three times. i think its a separated shoulder. he landed with his arm outstretched. its really hard to break your collar bone that way especially with the amount of padding goaltenders wear and how they are locked in. hes got around 2 weeks to get healthy enough to play. we dont need him the rest of the season. we will be just fine against the habs if lindback plays that way against them and we play as a team like we did tonight. if bishop can be ready for round two then we will have a chance. we just have to hope boston gets beat in the first round.

RT @simmonssteve: The injury to Ben Bishop is not shoulder. It's either arm or elbow. Maybe elbow. He'll undergo an MRI tomorrow. Tampa fac…

based on simmons reliability and competence as a journalist....if he says it's elbow or arm........it's probably a concussion or a broken foot.

seriously though, that's a real tough break on a real fluke play.....sucks for you guys man, i hope he's okay.

i still think you can beat the habs, even if lindback is just playing good, not great hockey.

I said it a week before Bishop got injured that this series is going to come down to a battle between Carey Price and the lightning offense.

the habs are a soft team...and they're really easy to get off their game. if you take the physical game to them (not sure if that's really your game or not), aggressive on the forecheck and throw the body when you can, then you should have no problem with that team

Strange coaching decision for sure.
I know that TB is pushing to grab home ice against the Habs... but you have to be smart as well. For example: Price, Markov, and a few others are being rested for the game against Chicago. Is there a chance that TB catches the Habs, yup, but at least it is less likely that a top player gets injured... and any of the guys who are a bit banged up get a little extra rest.
TB should have taken the opportunity (playing a spiralling Leaf team) to rest some stars like Bishop. Stamkos is likely a good idea to leave in do to the fact he is just coming back from the long lay off from his broken tibia.
Think they will rest others in light of this?

That injury on Bishop was a freak injury, but Cooper was only going to play him one more game and then rest him for the last two before the playoffs began.

Anyone sitting on the bench or in the press box wants a chance and unfortunately they usually come when theirs an injury. Well that time is now for Lindback. Everyone said Bishop needed a rest and well you got your wish. The sky didn't fall when Stammer went down and when Marty was traded, the team concept is what we were lacking and looking for and now that's what they have to do. Bishop has been average the last few weeks- still playing better than anyone we've had around here lately but his GAA has been climbing as well as his S% so whatever was wrong wasn't going to get much better playing more. Too often we see someone hurt then have trouble getting their job back because the backup steals the show- I don't think Bish has to worry about this - so Lindy time to step up and prove yourself or pack your bags - he wanted a chance - now he's got it.

Freak injuries happen though... so I ask again... Why play him against a soft Leafs team? Surely Lindback would have jumped to fill the void and your starter could have rested.

A sens fan, of all ppl, should know this is wrong. Spanked the sens all year, spanked the bruins all year. The Habs are just fine in physical games. Plus that's not the TBL's game. Habs/Bolts are quite similar except Bolts have Stammer and Habs have Price. It should be a 6-7 game, go either way series
