Keep believing that if Jonathan Bernier did not get injured, the leafs were a lock for the playoffs.

And now another Saviour is being brought in to right the ship..........just like Burke was susposed to do.

Kessel with 3G 4A and a -5 in the past 13 games. Not the type of production you would expect from one of the league's most gifted scorers in the most crucial part of the season.

With the collapse last year and then this year 7 points in 13 games makes you wonder. Should there be some big changes.

To score points in the play offs, your team has to be good enough to play, at the minimum of .500 hockey once the Olympic shutdown was over.

The leafs had 71 points, with 21 games to go, once the NHL started back up.

If they had only played .500 hockey, they would have ended up with 92 points enough to make the playoffs. (would have needed to win at least one of the two games vs Detroit, or the game vs Columbus.)
