and it gave them substance - mr.peanut
Yup. But from the beginning the PLQ hammered the referendum, not the PQ.
Kinda ironic, I know. |

How is that ironic? Ironic would be the Liberals saying how evil the PQ are for scheming to have a referendum, then call one themselves when they win. |

Was just asked does a PQ loss impact chance of province backing any future Montreal baseball stadium plan? Don't know. Very good question.
Expos back?? - BingoLady
The liberals were against the arena in Québec, you think they'd be for a baseball stadium without a team? |

Well it's ironic that the Libs were the ones talking about referendums all campaign long. |

PQ is pro secession. It's Center-left, while PKP is known to be on the Right. Some Left side defenders might agree to bulge their values to let an allstar candidate be the leader. - QuebecPride

That is an excellent question. One she will have to answer.
The PQ stratege have a lot to explain IMO. - fidopro
From the outside looking in, either she had something to hide or arrogance took over. Either way, it was pretty clear that she could not govern a minority. |

Not ironic IMO. They campaigned on a pretty strong premise that voting for a separatist party means that, if a majority is elected, you run a pretty good chance of another sovereignty referendum. |

What cooked their goose was that the Liberals kept saying if the PQ went in there'd be a referendum, which was irrational and false. There was no way there would have been a referendum in the next mandate. But people have very little to do with rationality and truth, they're not fans of change.
People who normally voted for the CAQ (the third most popular party) went to vote for the Libs, because the CAQ didn't take a position on an eventual referendum. |
