I'd rather they trade for someone more reasonable. The Defensemen run of large contracts is about a year from peaking I think so I don't want to get caught with a big contract because of an inflated free agent market.

Back when the Flyers were on the playoff border, I proposed a trade of Coburn+ 2014 first for Hamilton. The Bruins fans were interested in that.

i recently watched game 1, the 50+ save captain kirk miraculous game that ended in OT on a gorgeous 2 on 1-timer blast from the slot after a great chance at the canuck end, and i was surprised when i heard antoski's name. forgot he was on that team for some reason, and i watched the canucks a ton that year, including every playoff game. i rooted for them to win as hard as any flyer team. yes, i'm still bitter.

I think the parade happened the same day as the chase. ESPN did a 30 for 30 on that specific day. It was crazy. NBA Finals, Cup Parade, MLB on verge of strike, World Cup in LA.

Being the worst in the League over the course of a decade at anything is pretty unacceptable.

And yet I find nothing surprising about their place, and felt from the very beginning this would be problem for them. I bet they've never once finished over .500 in a season. Maybe someday they'll actually get good at them, but all I really want is for it to go away.

If I were gonna be a stat slinging douche, I'd say root for Boston. If they win in regulation it technically increases our chances at making the playoffs. But root for Detroit. They're a hard team to hate.
