Haha... Yeah. Rinaldo when playing under control is a useful, energy guy who can draw penalties.

I think the funniest part is when people blame Coburn. The guy is having a very strong season. He makes his mistakes, but his overall play has been critical to the team's success.
- PhillySportsGuy

He is literally on the ice for the most shots and goals against, though, so I could see how that image could be reinforced in people's minds.

Of course, once you take into consideration his usage and competition... that alters perception a bit.

Yeah.. there's a reason that Edmonton kept hounding the Flyers to get him. He's a solid dman IMO. I love seeing him on the ice in 4 on 4 OT with all that room.. there's been a couple of times, he has roamed all over the ice.. created chances at one end, speed to get back on D.
- Hextall271

I've really liked his overall defensive play. He sees a lot of tough match ups and holds his own every night.

Last year was a tough year, but he's really bounced back. Great job by the Flyers not selling short on him.

I bet he sees tougher match ups than any defenseman.

Well they ya go.

I'm surprised Hjalmarsson and Oduya are so high. You'd think Keith and Seabrook would be taking the toughest match ups on a nightly basis.

If you sort by TotTm% D QoC, they're pretty high up there -- that usually means they're getting put out there with scoring lines against the other team's best D. Hjalmarsson/Oduya seem to be doing most of the real dirty work defensively.

I'm most impressed with OEL's placement... guy is putting up points AND facing down the best forwards in the league. Kind of crazy.

And not surprised Phaneuf is struggling so bad... Carlyle is basically setting him up to fail.

Phaneuf was having a decent year before the poop storm hit.

OEL is such a good player. Still boggles my mind that Sweden kept him on the bench.

I like "Playoff Coburn" a lot. He seems to get some more snarl to his game come playoff time. Definitely part of the solution more than the problem.

if he could only slightly improve on his offensive contribution, he'd be the ideal 1B Dman to me.

I had a dream last night where Voracek lifted the puck in the air over a goalie's pad, but too bad that just a dream....

He definitely could be. He'd need to work on his positioning game as well as his passing and shooting game to be your "#1" guy, but could definitely hold down a spot as a compliment to a #1 guy.

Late to the party and I don't care...

If last night's game doesn't serve as the straw that breaks the shootout camel's back, I don't know what does. It is an absolute joke that a fantastic hockey game, any hockey game, is settled by a breakaway contest. The league should be ashamed of itself.

Lets call it an early wedding gift.

I think you found a trade that all 3 teams would not make.

Maybe the Oilers make it, but with the way they value players, I doubt it.
