Maybe not as an assistant coach, but I'd like to see a Michael Peca or Marty Reasoner come in and do a faceoff intensive with some of our smaller centres. Neither of those guys were big but knew enough tricks of the trade to be good in the dot, and I'd say we're losing about 200 faceoffs more than we need to be.

Who cares if the rest of the league isn't doing it? This team needs a faceoff consultant. If that catches on it'd be a nice little post-career avenue for Manny Malhotra too.

Maybe if the Oilers are averse to 'firing' people, this is a good opp to move Buchberger or Steve Smith to the Barons. Todd Nelson is likely leaving to get an NHL gig after this season anyway.

I always thought Guy Carbonneau would be a good associate coach for you guys. If anyone could help imrpove a teams 2 way game with their forward ranks, its him. I thought he was a good coach just got a raw deal in Montreal with that market

Depending on term, but if you gave out 2 four year deals at like a 4.75 and a 3.5 then they'll be alright.

Reminds me of a few years ago when Muckler (?) managed to get both Volchenkov and Phillips signed to a combined like 6 million dollar cap hit when they were both at the top of their games.

There have been a few times that guys have anonymously said they find out more about who their colleagues are willing to move through the media and that is how trade discussions started.
