He doesn't really hate Canadians. It would've been the same reaction if this had happened in Saudi. He's just mad his daughter didn't do as God ordered, and sought his permission before getting hitched. In Islam, a woman who hadn't married before needs to have her father's blessing for a marriage to be valid.

But she was like "(frank) that" and her daddy got mad enough to choke her in front of people at a fish 'n chips joint.

She's staying in the country, though, so she's one of the lucky ones.
