Mayfield? Also we took an entire draft of defenseman a couple of years ago. I would have to assume that some of them will pan out...

Also Pokka has some nice promise as well.

Who on the Jets is comparable to say, Brad Boyes, Peter Regin, Pierre Marc Bouchard or Brian Rolston???

PLEAAAAAAAAAAASE NO, I really like having JT strome okposo and a first round pick on the team. Id rather not have a 2nd round pick and a nobody prospect so please for the sake of whatever fans this team has left...don't do it

Give up Okposo for Kane, sure if you want the cap hit, but its not a forward upgrade, And buff sucks at playing D, too slow and he clutchs and grabs all game long.

Or lee, strome,Nelson, pelech, pedan, mayfield,Reinhardt, pulock, czurzman or any other of their 14 d prospects.

I think the Isle will get him for a 3rd and 5th in the offseason. after that they need to decide who will step ip thi year and who they can go after in FA

Isles with a good goalie improve massively. The goaltending HAS been that bad

Isles are a goalie and a coach away from being a force. While our defense isn't the greatest, its also not as bad as it seems, our goaltending is horrendous. Our offense is more than capable of compensating for mediocre defense. Without JT this team still is scoring 4 plus goals a night. Some playoff teams would kill for that production.

risky but I would probably do it only if Garth already finds a goalie.

I Have to agree, but to a lesser extent. The D has vastly improved in my opinion. Especially since Amac was traded, but they def could use a top 4 dman and Vis might not be returning. So, they might need 2 top 4 dmen. An adequate goalie will be key to next year though

Who would they send back to the jets? They have hardly any talent.

Head injuries are very tricky, plus he is close to retiring so he might not want to risk serious injury. I would say 100% on him not returning this year and I am 50-50 on him playing again.

That's not enough for both players. At a minimum I would ask for okposo and a pick.

Than what's the point? Swapping first liner for first liner?

while i agree with the head injuries, retirement upcoming, and that he shouldnt come back this year...i just dont believe thats enough reason to retire.

having said that, if what you meant when you said that he wont play next year is bc hell retire, i can believe that quicker than demanding a trade or sitting out the year...

Yea, I mean that he will retire. If he plays in the NHL next year it will be as an Islander.

[quote=HabzSquanch]I really don't see how Kane/byfuglien to NYI makes any sense...the return would have to be massive, and with at least 1 of their next two first rounders to be taken by Buffalo, what could NYI package to make that kind of splash? Tavares and Okposo aren't going anywhere, so what do you trade?

My thoughts exactly.... This just in FLYERS also in on kane and buff E5.
