I think they benefitted. They let a lot go in the third though. Flyers ended up with more PPs.
- PhillySportsGuy

PPs were even. Which is how I think the officiating balanced out. Not great, not horrible. Calls missed on both sides.

Of course, if I was pissed at the goalie, I'd just plow into him.

several marginal calls against the Kings tonight ... including the crosschecking against Carter that nullified a Kings goal.
- FlyerGuy

Carter's stick, since it wasn't on the ice, was also in Emery's gut and pushing his arm...so that could have been called. I see it as a wash since the VL non-goal looked pretty close.

Although VL needs to bury that puck.

I never got close to the other team's goalie

Nah, I'm joking. I loved our goalie. I did crash into him once, but I was trying to knock away a trickler that was on the goal line

Whatever you say pal. It hit all three posts. How that makes the Carter call a "wash" is beyond me.

well, it WAS close ... you just can't overturn the call without clear evidence. And there was none.

terrible angle on the overhead camera, though. I thought they were supposed to line those things up directly over the crossbar.

He's been better lately. Im still not his biggest fan though.

I see no point in singling him out tonight though.

As a side, I just got the 'Date Arab Girls' advertisement. People have talked about it, but its my first time.

- PhillySportsGuy

Columbian girls one is good too.....did you see the Arab girl ad with one or two girls

Did you guys not get the same replays we got here in California? We had one that clearly showed it going off the right, then the crossbar, then the left. It was overhead.

Did you see the overhead angle? It was close. If it was called a goal on the ice, it wouldn't have been over-turned. It just went the other way.

the overhead view I saw wasn't directly overhead ... but back towards center ice by a foot.

the crossbar wasn't directly over the goal line, like it's supposed to be.

The overhead angle was in front of the net; the puck almost completely disappeared under the crossbar, meaning the puck was almost completely over the line, especially when you consider it was spinning as it was moving.

Well still, logically, if it hits one post, then the crossbar, then the other post and out, it never went in. It's been a while since my last geometry class but no way it hits all three posts and still goes in the net between two of the posts.

I agree. Shame it wasnt more conclusive. In all honesty, it shouldnt have been that close. So in that regard, Flyers didnt deserve a call there

But we're also used to pucks being flat; this puck was flipping, and if there's any white between the puck and the line, it's a goal...and there's a good chance there was some white based upon the top view. Hence, "close".

Agreed. Vinny needs to bury that. Granted, it's easier said than done, but that's why he's making millions to play a game.

sure ... but still it would have been nice to be looking directly down at the crossbar, because what if it ticked off the camera in back, instead of the crossbar?

either way, it was called a no goal, and there wasn't evidence to overturn it. thus, the correct call was made.

Just me, but it seems if there was ever any white between the puck and the line it wouldn't have hit a post and come out, but stayed in. Whatever though, agree to disagree. Not even sure we saw the same replays, so who knows.
