I think most fans are on board with the tank job

The dumbing down of America. It makes me ill that people like Honey Boo Boo, the Kardashians, and all of these other scripted reality shows. These people get rich, because there are a bunch of mindless fools that tune into this dribble religiously. The fact there is an audience for that type of garbage is a disgrace.

I think it's something to the effect of, "It's better to slightly appeal to most viewers, than to strongly appeal to some or few." Quantity over quality. Or maybe I'm just talking out of my ass. I can't claim to be an expert on TV, the only show I ever tune in for is "NHL Hockey".

Makes sense I suppose. Appeal to the masses. I watch sports, and a few shows that about it for me.

I'm losing patience because they're trying to win instead of starting a rebuild. Everyone but Ruben knows they won't be good this year.

If they end up with Parker or Wiggins along with a guy like Hood from Duke.

MCW
Parker
Hood
Thad Young
Noel

Thats a really good team moving forward along with a poopload of cap space.

True... but all NHL franchises, even the most decorated one in league history, have had Cup-less spells of multiple decades.

Also, let's just suppose that the Flyers HAD won the Cup in 1987 instead of coming up just short. Let's suppose that, in the game 2 overtime won by Edmonton, that Brian Propp had not hit the post in the opening minute of OT but had scored instead. So then J.J. Daigneault's goal in Game 6 becomes the Cup winner instead of "merely" forcing what turned out to be a heartbreaking Game 7.

Would fans in Philly today really be THAT much more satisfied being 27 years removed from the Cup than the last Cup being 39 years ago? I think the answer to that is no.

i can tell you without question that a Cup win in 87 would have made me significantly more satisfied. my life would be different. i'm not kidding. and i forgot about the game 2 goal post. jfc.

people have asked me if i could choose to have the flyers win the cup or that i win the lottery. i choose the cup every single time. perhaps had they won in 80 or 85 or 87 or 97 or 10, i'd feel differently, but they didn't, and so i don't.

Do you think that Amaro has carte blanche to take the team in a rebuilding direction if he chooses to?

Thats what I question. When he's asked about the team, he seems to hate them more than the fans. Whoever is pulling the strings, they're delusional.

Better not lose at Indiana tonight. Regardless of tank job, losing streaks like this are embarrassing, and show lack of compete, and competence. It's never good to be a laughing stock in any walk of life.

Thats a tall order to win at Indiana. This team has two legitimate NBA players. Thats it.

That's right! Snake river canyon. I vaguely remember him attempting some kind of jump at Ceasar's Palace in Las Vegas?

Doesn't sound appealing either way. As it stands, do you think the Phillies have a good chance at qualifying for a postseason?
