I agree. Hell, at this stage, I'd seriously see what I could get for the Sedin bothers. They are 37 and aren't the players they once were.

As much as I think Gillis is a retard, he has balls. Vancouver is only two points out of a play-off spot and that is one of the most rabid fan bases in the league. It's one thing to admit you aren't a Cup contender and trade maybe Kesler. But its another thing to throw the organization in the gutter when you are close to the play-offs.

Onto Thomas rumors, if they are true ... with Vokoun recovering and trying to get back, the acquisition of Thomas would give us four goalies. Does Zatkoff get sent down? Does he have to go through waivers? I have a rough time the Pens would carry four goalies, let alone three.

Yes, nothing has changed... only that he can be sent down now without having to clear waivers.

His cap hit is still going against the pens, but they can send him down in the next 30 days without him having to clear waivers.

Many players get waived without moving. It just gives the option to send them down without going through the waiver process in the event a trade happens and the Pens need a roster spot. it happens often

I think that deal for luo wasn't bad for the Canucks. Shed his salary and get back a decent goalie prospect plus Mathias. The panthers on the other hand are stupid. They are in no way built to win now, and traded for an old goalie with maybe 3 good years left in him. Maelstrom could have been their guy

Thoughts on him on a line with Kuni and Sid. Might be a viable option. LA seems to want to get Vanek and wants to clear space.

Same here, but Phoenix has zero incentive to trade either. Hanzel has three more years at 3.1, while Boeddker has one more year at 2.25 before RFA.
