Sutter, Dumoulin, and a 1st for Staal, with Carolina retaining 1M of his salary for the length of the deal.......... |

If this is true, the Penguins should be all over him.
Perfect 3rd line C for us!
That would be perfect! |

Haha that would be one for the ages!
They would ask for Pouliot, no doubt.
Sutter, Pouliot and a 1st or Sutter, Despres and a 1st. |

I d love to have him back , but was nt one of the key reasons he left is he did not want to play 3 rd line center ... Seems nothing has changed. . Carolina is just gauging his value |

We could trade for Staal, make an offer to San Jose for Kennedy, and try to pry Cooke away from the Wild, and put the greatest f'ing 3rd line in the history of history back together.... |

You'd have to think Rutherford would be committing career suicide to take that deal. I'd actually feel bad for the guy......but I'd get over it.

Kesler has a Big ego compared to Jordan. #11 would accepted his role easier than #17, no doubt.
Yeah, bring us some Cookie! |

A Staal return would be hilarious... $6 million is a bit high, but every year down the line it gets better and better.
If Carolina has to cut salary, They should start with Cam Ward. |

$6M was exactly what Shero offered. I'd take Staal back for the right price even though I fall asleep everytime Jordan Talks. |

I have always liked Sutter, and if you are looking at a UFA rental at hopes of resigning him, you can have Stastny, who actually is a good 2way shut down center |

He was always very good at his job of a physical shut down center, who could provide a little offense.
The error was projecting him to be a first line center (or even a 2nd line center on a true contender). |

Looking at the roster, all the high priced playes have NTC/NMC.
It will be difficult to get full value knowing they can block any trade.
Plus $6MM until 2023. For a tweener 2/3 Center |

The price for Staal would have to be a good bit less than the price for Kesler for it to make sense.
I'm not really concerned about Staal's contract though. $6 mil a year will be peanuts after a couple more offseasons.

He was never counted upon to be a #1 in Carolina. |

Cant remember if it was on 93.7 or 105.9 yesterday but one of the guests was on to talk about the deadline and said he was sure Pens "already had/actively were" kicking the tires on AMac. |

The key is, that is is for 9 more years. With how much the cap is going to jump, $6 mil in a few years will seem like a bargain. |

Does he not want to play 3rd line center or get paid as a 3rd line center? Hes getting paid as a top line center. I'm sure he'd love to come home now. |

Sutter is one of, if not the, weakest hockey players I have ever seen. He cant play the position of a shut down center, way to easily moved off the puck. |
