So you refuse to admit that Simmonds at that time was equal to or more valuable than Sutter is now? And that Kesler is a better player than Staal? I'm not trolling you, serious questions.

Fine CG, here goes.....

A) Kesler has scored 40 goals as a 2nd line center, he perennially puts up 25 goals and has settled in as what projects as a 60 point man.......Staal had scored 29 goals and never produced more than 50 points

B) kesler has a selke trophy, does Staal? This suggests that kesler is the superior defensive player

C) kesler has centered the top line for the USA the past 2 Olympics with the USA arguably the worlds second best team. If Staal were American he'd likely not even make that team

D) sutter has always projected as a 3rd line center and Simmonds has always projected as a top 6 power forward and both have seemingly fulfilled their potential

E) schenn without waste of my breath is worth pouliot+++

F) the late 1st is marginally better than the 2nd

In summary:

Kesler>>>Staal
Simmonds>=sutter
Schenn>>Pouliot
2nd<1st

The Pittsburgh offer is pure trash and you know it.......

- chompsey

alright, thanks.

A) Who was Staal's linemates, who were Keslers? How many minutes did Kesler play 5 on 5 and on the PP? How about Staal. Looking at the numbers and drawing a conclusion based off of that, you aren't telling the whole story.

B) Staal has a Stanley Cup, does Kesler?

C) Alright great, if I had an offer for Claude Giroux and for Brooks fricking Oprik, I should take Oprik because he played on Team USA. give me a break.

D) Different guys have different skill sets. when used correctly, Sutter is just as valuable as Simmonds is.

E) Yes because Schenn has certainly lived up to that billing. Schenn was a great prospect, Pouliot is a great prospect. That big of a difference? No.

F) A late 1st (if even a late first) is still much better than a mid 2nd.

In Summary...

youre delusional.

Yes and they all knew he was going to CAR, so they offered crap for a rental.

You're grasping at straws man, on all accounts......clearly critical thinking isn't your forte......not going to bother to discuss this further as you're not being rational and I assure you that fans other than Canuck fans are shaking their heads at your idiocy.....

"First Class" would be outplaying your backup & earning your contract. Having a sense of humor about the sh!tty situation you've put yourself in via twitter may be endearing to some, but not me. Buy the loser out already.

For years you've made some insightful observations and posts and then you come up with some real head scratching comments.

Lack is a good goalie, but he's not outplaying Luo. He played well in the 2 previous games and in Torts started him on that criteria alone.

If you had your way Kyle Wellwood would still be on the team, and wearing the "C". Or how about this thought...maybe just maybe Torts is saving Luo for the weaker teams so he can inflate his stats and make Lack look bad, like you stated with Schneider a couple of years ago.

In other words stick to being objective and put your anger and negativity aside.

I raise concerns that Staal playing behind Crosby and Malkin on the 3rd line with Tyler fricking Kennedy is not very comparable to Kesler playing on the 2nd line with significant PP time.

I raise concerns that you expect to get much more than what comparable centers in similar situations got traded for.

yep, clearly i'm not being rational. i'm only rational on Tuesdays. wait another hour.

Apparently the latest word out there is that PIT and PHI are bidding against each other for Kesler's services.

I like where this is going... PHI has so much more to offer.

At least it isn't Toronto. Wouldn't want to go through all that effort just for Nonis to ask Gillis to eat half Kesler's salary at 11:58am on Wednesday.

Yup.

Can hardly call it a 2nd line when Kesler was the only top6 player on it.
