Sutter topped out in the 09/10 season...he really isn't an attractive piece to any team especially in a deal for a player of Keslers caliber...anyone here would rather have Simmonds over Sutter playing for them, period....more physical, more offensive and an energizer...Sutter doesn't bring much that is desired - keatondixon
Yes. |

a guy who was barely 6'1 and under 200 pounds soaking wet isn't a power forward. sorry. |

I appreciated your ideas, and I'm considering them before I put out the final suggestions.
I just think your punishments are too harsh.
And as you can see by the alarm it caused with a few managers, others agree.
People get busy and there are also occasional electronic malfunctions and errors that can cause people to miss a day.
There is no way we can employ a "one strike and you're out" kind of rule in a fun, casual pool.
Like I said, I'll make some final suggestions by tomorrow evening and we'll vote. Rules will be in place for next week. - Fosco Electronic malfunctions happen. i missed sunday after i set my line up. |

Im taking Staal at the 2012 draft over Kesler today, sorry.
Sutter > Simmonds nope
1st > 2nd
Despres/Dumolin < Schenn not at the time when Schenn was one of the top rated propects
kind of confused here. - SuperHenderson13
Staal was guarantied to go play with his brother in the off season. The canes did Pit a favor just giving them anything. And no other teams drove up the price because they knew this too.
Kesler is signed beyond this year at a cap friendly deal. Many teams would like to have him as is being seen.

If it's anything less than Sutter, Bennett, Pouliott/Depres, and a 1st, Gillis needs to pass, or be let go immediately. - Fosco
Gillis would be let go before less than that happened. I imagine FA sees the deals before they go through. |

alright, great discussion. thanks for your input. - SuperHenderson13
Fine CG, here goes.....
A) Kesler has scored 40 goals as a 2nd line center, he perennially puts up 25 goals and has settled in as what projects as a 60 point man.......Staal had scored 29 goals and never produced more than 50 points
B) kesler has a selke trophy, does Staal? This suggests that kesler is the superior defensive player
C) kesler has centered the top line for the USA the past 2 Olympics with the USA arguably the worlds second best team. If Staal were American he'd likely not even make that team
D) sutter has always projected as a 3rd line center and Simmonds has always projected as a top 6 power forward and both have seemingly fulfilled their potential
E) schenn without waste of my breath is worth pouliot+++
F) the late 1st is marginally better than the 2nd
In summary:
Kesler>>>Staal
Simmonds>=sutter
Schenn>>Pouliot
2nd<1st
The Pittsburgh offer is pure trash and you know it....... |

So it's based on size and that's all. |

and yet Kesler has a NTC and seems to have limited the teams to 4 or 5. |

nope, just saying if that is your main sell that he was a power forward at the time... I don't know what to tell you. |

Fair point, but he's still better than Staal and under contract already so there's no pressure to deal him now. And again, Sutter is no Simmonds. B.Schenn and Pouliot you could call equal, although B.Schenn at that point had way more hype. |

I said he was becoming a power forward. I would define him as a power forward now. I would be happy if Kassian could follow the same trajectory. |
