that would be a blockbuster.....
- landros 2

Also impossible.

Ehrhoff+Myers+Stewart+Halak = $17.5MM in cap hit.

Don't believe any of that. This isn't a fantasy world.

Correct, and I expect Halak, Stewart, Ehrhoff to be moved.

Not in one deal though, that would never happen.

Myers would have to be a "hockey" trade....not sure you trade a kid like that unless theres something from a off ice issue no one knows about....I dont buy him being on the block at all.

I dont think he is either.

The return would have to be something a team would never pay.

Obviously with that said, a trade is not happening.

especially since he has a terrible contract that no one would take on. you don't risk that much money on someone who "might" be good down the road.

In a league where Wayne Gretzky was traded at the peak of his career, anything is possible.

Find a team with some bad contracts that have a year or two left on them, combine that with a rising cap next year and you could very well see that type of trade made.

Halak is a UFA after this season, so his cap hit is negligible for this year.

Let's say, just throwing this out there, you hit up MTL for a deal

In an outlandish deal, MTL could send Briere and Subban + back the other way, clearing up 1/2 of that cap space right away, I think the Canadiens would find a way to make sense of the deal if they really wanted to. They have 3 UFA dmen after this season. with an escalating cap, a tenuous relationship with their #1 dman, and a guy that has been misused in Briere you could see them be tempted to make a drastic change... Buffalo lands a dman they can build around, and likely some prospects in the mix to satiate their need to rebuild that franchise, Montreal gets some "now" players to round out an undersized team for a playoff run.

This is not what I would think a real offer would be like for either team, but deals like this can be made when you have the right parts (contracts, discontentment, teams going 2 different directions etc).

It's highly unlikely that they would find a match, I agree, but it's certainly not impossible.

On Callahan: A source has told me there is now a 75% chance Cally re-signs in NY...however, until is 100% I am not convinced.
- Eklund

so, if he DOES sign then you have inside connections, and if he does NOT sign you were right all along?

sounds like a no-lose scenario.

Think he saying when he re-signs it will be 100% and he will be convinced it will happen.... or something like that...

yeah, I suppose that makes sense.

I'm 75% convinced that the Flyers will make a trade until I'm 100% convinced they won't.
