Factoring in also that it isn't $17MM, but only the prorated share of $17MM for this season, it becomes more and more likely that a mega deal can still occur, especially in a scenario where Buffalo is eating some cap space, which they can do (up to 50%)

BTW, the Miller/Ott trade was well over $9MM, and they did more than ok in that trade.

Secondly. Yes Buffalo can eat up to 50% of the cap but they cant do it for only this season. So trading away a guy with term like Myers or Erhoff and suggesting they will eat some cap is ridiculous.

I hate the 'Nucks with that being said I don't think they need a rebuild per say more of a retool. Get rid of Kessler and bring in a different #2 center. Possibly trade for a winger or two. Fire torts and they'll be back in the thick of things IMO.
