B Schenn has mastered the art of eating the glass. He knew it was coming and was in good position as his head wasn't tucked. Not sure what he does other than hits and plays hard to deserve these glass sandwiches.

B. Schenn has taken some monster hits this year. I'm amazed and thankful he hasn't been injured.

At least Hartnell had some positives to his game. The 2nd penalty in the Rangers game was weak. But at least he seems to know it, and actually created some good forecheck pressure in both of the wins.
- jmatchett383

It was weak, but the thing is Hartnell is not going to get the benefit of the doubt. He takes way too many minor penalties. He had some scoring chances, but didn't finish. My only issue with Hartnell is the dumb, selfish penalties he takes.

With regards to Downie, he's been basically useless with the exception of a handful of games.

We will gladly take him off your hands, so long as his brother comes along in a Kesler or Edler type exchange
- Whiskey-Tango

I wondered about such a transaction....the big issue I would have is that Kesler is 31.....Schenn is like 22? anyways There would have to be more from vancouver. I know, I know sounds greedy, but I have really started to like Brayden Schenn's game....Luke...not so much.
I think Holmgren wants to stay the course. If Schenn is to ever be moved it will come later as he grows as a player and his worth is much greater.

Two-way defenseman under 30

Apart from Hamhuis (31) and Bieksa (32), that pretty much describes our entire back-end

What are you guys lacking?

We got plenty of D and some pretty decent goalie prospects.

- Whiskey-Tango

Besides Edler? Players of interest are Lach, Hamhuis, and (if you retained 50%) Garrison.

Well thats what they need. Flyers won't include B. Schenn or Couts in any trade unless the player is top pairing or top pairing potential.

Very good win.
My dislike for the play of Downie and Renaldo continues.

- Scoob

You could throw Hartnell into that, brain dead, unfocused, undisciplined play sometimes.
Could we say these things are a certainty?

How come Orlov didn't get a game misconduct to go along with his major yesterday? I couldn't figure that one out.

Because Schenn got up. Honestly, I was expecting a 2 minute minor.

I see your main point, but I think Kesler is only 29...not to nit pick or anything

Couturier only gets traded if Shea Weber's name is involved. But yeah, he pretty much will never be traded. At least not until he is over 26 years old.

I know. Penalties and suspensions are so dependent on injury. Its so stupid. It would be like going to jail for less time because the guy you shot in the chest ended up living.

Flyers better not do B Schenn for Kesler straight up. So sick of trading kids away and acquiring vets past their prime.

Yeah, I wouldn't trade him unless it's for a Weber/Pietrangelo type. Even for OEL, I'd be hesitant (as good as OEL is). The kid is already so good, and seems to have an infinite ceiling.

further up I did.....I like Kessler, but baby Schenn is really starting to develop, and one guy is a banged up 31 year old and one is a young talented kid that if moved should be for a young talented D man of the same Ilk....funny thing is I could see Holmgren doing this type of deal.
Schenn's value is only going to increase...in my mind anyway.

If it brought back Kesler AND Edler (and including other Schenn)? Yes I'd do it. Not for Edler straight up.

flyers just need brayden schenn to eat some glass every night and they got this. Anyone know if there is word about a suspension for that hit?
- FlyersSteve118

Schenn has a knack for being boarded. Seems like he's gotten that call quite a lot since he's been here.

Whether it's a deliberate plan of his, I don't know, but he seems to have perfected this to an art.

I thought John Boruk, basically came out and reported that Flyers are NOT pursuing a deal with Kesler. Regardless of everybody might think of him, I trust a lot of what he reports

I thought that as well, but, as long as Nashville requires season ticket holders, and the threat of a declining fan base?

I don't see a trade ever happening.

Courturier embodies & best exemplifies the logo on the sweater as well as anyone I've ever seen.

I doubt many players plan for a player to leave his feet and plant an elbow in the back on their head while they're facing that glass. I think he's just bad at leaving himself prone.
